Since I haven't had a car, I've been doing a lot more walking; it's 1.5 mile trek to the train station and back, and I take two 15 minute walks on my breaks at work, and then, on weekends walk a good 6 miles a day, weather permitting. So I'd say I walk at least 4 miles a day, give or take, generally at a pretty brisk pace. So how far does everyone else walk in a day? It may be longer, as I don't monitor each and every step, but this is a rough estimate.
I try to walk at least 3 miles every day, but up until a few months ago I could do 10 (not every day) quite easily.
I think one of my main limiting factors is time; it's not always safe to walk too late alone in the city, and it's often dark when I get home. So I can't do my park/trail walks then, which are my favorite! Plus, I have a long commute on the train/bus, so that eats into things. But I get 30 minutes to eat, and then 2 15 minute breaks at work, so I use those for walking; outdoors if its nice, around the 7 floors of the library if it's raining. I tried running/jogging, but I feel so clumsy, and it seems sorta embarrassing...like I must look somehow unnatural! I do love riding my bike, though I got jumped and had one stolen in the city, so I've been scared to. You get these gangs of teens, they surround you, and take your bike...
I walk loads because my school is huge. I have a pedometer and I walk roughly 7000 steps a day, so I guess 5 miles.
Lately I've been inside all day because of a cold. But, I usually try to walk for 30-60 minutes a day. Isn't much but, mixed with everyday walking it adds up I guess.
I have a job that requires me to walk around a large building all the time, so on average I walk between 3 and 4 miles each day.
Barely any recently :$ Back in high school I used to walk about 20 minutes to then from school. Then second semester of uni I used to walk home (~1 h) because it was therapeutic. Now I walk to work, but it's not that often or far away. Moral: I only walk when I have too
1,5km on average i think, or something close to that. I'm trying to walk a bit more, so slowly that number will go up!
I don't know; during high school I used to use a pedometer on occasion, but I haven't done so recently. I do most of my traveling on campus by bike. On days when I take a bus, then I may do more walking, but it's still not much. In general, I'd rather be on a bicycle than be on my feet.
4km on threadmill everyday well according to google its equidistant with 2,48 miles adding walking around the workplace ER-Inpatient-Clinic-OR-Radiology-Etc i assume its 0.5 miles (?) So the total is around 2.98 miles per day
I work in a hospital so I'm pretty much walking, almost non-stop all day. Not sure how much distance I cover though. Happy days
On most days (which are holidays at the moment) I walk from my bedroom to the kitchen and back again to make coffee or other beverage three-five times per day. That's basically it. On school days about 3-5 miles depending on what subjects I have.
I walk (rather quickly) during most of my 8 hour shift at work. Is that cheating? I imagine it's more than 10 miles, since when I hike, I do almost 4 miles per hour, but I am not positive, so I chose 6-10 miles.
You know what dude, I need to get my ass off my couch and do some walking -_-. I've been so poopy about exercise and health it's not funny!
