Kinda new here, so pretty much only EC and the bare minimum of other forums. I attempted the school GSA, but we were only two members strong.

My interactions/involvement have been pretty limited.

    1. Joining/contributing to EC
    2. Joining some LGBTQ meet ups and mingling with folks

My goal is to meet more LGBTQ friends in the real world and assimilate more into the community. If I can feel more comfortable in the real world being gay, then I think coming out will be easier. Online, I'm fine, outside, not so much. :icon_redf

    I've barely interacted with it...

There were some gay parishioners at the church I use to attend. I came out as gay to the priest there (I think she was gay too) and she told the other gay people there so that they could look out for me. I never talked about my sexuality with those other members. Now that I think of it, I really should've.

    There's this site.

There's tumblr. It's been pretty impersonal though. I'll reblog LGBT stuff, but I never talk about my about my "status" in the community.

I've never gone to a LGBT center or even pride.

Well, I've been out for around 18 years and I'm now married to a wonderful guy. I've been to a few gay bars and clubs in my time and I've done the whole pride/carnival thing too. I'm a member of my employers LGBT panel and previously secretary of an LGBT community group. A long time ago, I was moderator of an MSN LGBT forum. EC member and advisor.

I'm trying to compensate my lack of involvement in the past by trying to offer some kind of support and understanding here on EC. I joined EC earlier this year after encountering a lengthy episode of homophobic abuse (non-physical) last year, which really made me firm in believing that nobody should ever go through this. I have however been involved in certain activities, like editing for an LGBT newsletter and volunteering here and there, but nothing too big. I'm trying to change that now though, that's the main reason I'm on this forum.

My involvement outside of here has primarily been through lobbying

Nothing much except joining here, the local LGBT group is only for ages 16-25 and we don't really have pride marches here except Mardi Gras.
