I saw this on a t-shirt: "I'm not gay, but my asshole is." That's me. I live a normal life. I have a job. I pay rent. But, I'm really, really gay. Well, my asshole is. I'm a total bottom. In Mexico it's called being a "pasivo." I still struggle with it after 40 years. I think it helps to be old with one foot in the grave. It's an excuse to avoid sex. Being old. Except I still want sex all the time. Well, my asshole does.

I'm trying to figure out what you're getting at here. Gay men have jobs and pay rent too. Their lives don't consist entirely of anal.
Do people have no sense of humor or understanding what this person is saying? People expect gay people to fulfill stereotypes, but many people (including this guy) do not. Along with that this man is from a different culture that has its own views on gay people. You have to give wiggle room to people from around the world and not just get pissed that they're not being PC like you want. That shirt is funny and I understand what this guy is saying. Stop being offended so easily, you'll live longer.
The joke is based in irony/hypocrisy. The person is saying they are not gay, but their asshole is. However that in itself is the definition of being gay. Fanning out why something is funny sort of sucks the funny out... But that's pretty much it!
