I've heard the word used, but I've never gotten a full grasp of the meaning. What's a zine?

    Hi, and welcome to EC.

Please keep in mind that you cannot trade any sort of off-site contact information, including websites, email addresses, usernames, or anything else until you're a full member. So once you've been here a couple of weeks and have some posts (minimum 50) built up, you can apply for full membership. Until then... you're welcomed to talk about zines, but you can't share anything about where to find them. Hope you can understand!

basically books about anything you want, could be about a pet, your favorite band, can be comic-like, the possibilities are literally endless

You inspired me - I made my first zine this morning. It's nothing special, just a bunch of words and images cut and pasted from a large pile of junk mail. Turned out pretty interesting though, despite being thrown together with next to no direction or cause. Making it was pretty fun, too.

How would a beginner start something like this? I read a book called Hard Love and it involved two friends that wrote them. They always appealed to me.

Xylaz, I'm not very good at explaining things, you can look up how to make a zine! That's what I did

    Lillake it looks amazing

I haven't tried making zines before but I've always really wanted to start. It seems fun and right down the alley of things I might enjoy doing. I suppose it can be super DIY too so I might give it a shot when I have the time.

Haha, thank you so much. I was 100% sleep deprived when I made it, so I'm happy it turned out well.
