Hey everyone, I joined the forum last night and thought I'd introduce myself now after I've had a look around. My name is Joe, I am 17 and from the UK. I identify as gay and I am out to one person in my family and everyone else that I choose to tell. Nice to meet you all!
Hey Joe, I'm also new around here, everyone seems friendly; you'd like it. If you need someone to chat with, leave me a wall message
Hello back from the UK! I know right, you think you're going to be special because everyone's from America and then loads of UK people turn up. Actually our membership is from all over. Welcome to the forum! :icon_bigg Glad you decided to sign up, feel free to look around and post often! We're all friendly here. Let the staff know if we can be of any help.
Yeah, I know what you mean I'm on a mostly American forum (dog based - I love dogs more than I do myself) under a different user, and there's me, someone from Yorkshire, Manchester and Lincoln, and that's it for the UK on the whole site! At least there's no snobbery because I'm from up North on there like there is on mostly British sites ---------- Post added 6th Aug 2015 at 01:56 AM ---------- Thanks for the welcome everyone!
Welcome to the site, Joe. I personally hope you find your time here to be everything you hope it to be, if not more. :icon_bigg
I know it's about 230 miles from Liverpool to Glasgow (I want to go here for uni but apparently it's a shithole - we'll see because I'm going for the first time in Jan), do you live at the very top of Scotland then? I didn't realise it was that big. Scotland is like what defines North to me. we still get referred to as 'Northern Monkeys' though compared to those 'Southern Fairies' (Lock, Stock & Two Smoking Barrels ref.)
Yeah I'm fairly high up here! Personally I wouldn't choose Scotland for uni, the SNP are destroying education up here. I ran my student's association 2 years ago and I saw just how bad the funding was, also you'll be living here where (if you need it) the NHS seen it's budget pillaged to fund other things. I just couldn't recommend anyone to move here.
I was having second thoughts about and staying in England or going to Wales, but if I decide not to, one of my best mates lives in Glasgow and I haven't seen her for ages so when I get a job I'll be up every few weekends. Initially I thought Scotland because with them (or you, whatever) getting more devolution each year, in a couple of years I believe Scotland will have their own constitution. Anyway, wherever I choose to go, after I graduate I'm going to get qualified to teach English abroad and then off to Thailand I go!
Just cause we get devolution doesn't make it better, it only gives the SNP control, which they have totally mismanaged. Even with 16% more to spend than England they still get it horribly wrong. Just because something is free doesn't make it better, for every new free thing you give, there's another you have to take away. I was campaigning with the Scottish Conservatives the other day and I just rocked up to the SNP stall which had 11 people there and not a single one could give me an answer to "how has the SNP benefitted you personally in the last 4 years?", that says more than I ever can type.
hey there joe, here joey, you think you are alone. try to find a german. :tears: just joking (it's an english side so whom am I kidding???) nice to hear of you and feel welcome to message me anytime you want (*hug*)(!)
