Simple enough. <3 My favorite speech is "Street Sweeper" by Martin Luther King. It is beautiful. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NlV_ODrEL0k
I'd probably say anything by Martin Luther King. Compared to all the other terrible men in history, cheating on your wife don't seem to bad. Plus he was all about love and I'm all about that . Much better role model than Malcolm X. P.S. Not that I'm saying cheating is a good thing!
Mine comes from my favorite horror movie, Jacob's Ladder, and is given by Danny Aiello's character Louis. It goes as such: Brings a tear to my eye every time. :tears: Fun fact time! Jacob's Ladder was directed by Adrian Lyne, who also made Fatal Attraction, and was the direct inspiration for the Silent Hill series. The bad ending to the first Silent Hill is a direct reference to the ending of Jacob's Ladder, and the subway portion of Silent hill 3 is copied from the movie as well. doo Doo doo DOOOOOO!
D'you know? At the moment, I really like Ellen Page's** "coming out" speech at the HRCF's Time to Thrive conference. Perhaps not the most poignant when we look back in a hundred years but meaningful all the same. If you haven't seen it, google is your friend **Disclaimer/Full Disclosure - I totally fancy Ellen Page so my opinions will be biased in this regard. ;P
"They're not your property! You cannot own a human being! Sooner or later, somebody pushes back!" It's from Mad Max: Fury Road. It's short but I like how the actress says it.
Tsk, tsk, these are by far the best movies speeches: "I don't want to be an emperor" The Great Dictator - Charlie Chaplin: Spoiler "St. Crispians Day" Henry V - Kenneth Branagh Spoiler Original movie version of the above: Spoiler
My favourite is from the manga Space Brothers which is said by Brian Jay who is a fictional astronaut in the series. This speech always helps me when I am not confident with myself: In a man's life, there are many doors to his dreams. For example if you have a big dream of going into space that huge door might scare you off, and make you give up on your dream. "There is no way I can open that thing" you'll say, but there is nothing to be afraid of because the truth is that huge door simply doesn't exist. Really there are just lots and lots of small ones.A door to growth, a door to discovery, a door to victory, a door to applause. You'll find them and many more. And with each little door you open step by step your dream will come true. To realise that dream there is something you must do. No matter how hard it may be you gotta keep reaching for the next door. Keep doing that and before you know you could be floating in space.
Emma Watson - She says what I want to but so much more concise Doctor Who 2 - Victoria: "I think we've landed in a world of mad people". Doctor: "They're human beings if that's what you mean, indulging in their favorite past time of trying to destroy each other." Doctor Who 12 - "When you've killed all the bad people, and when it's all perfect and fair, when you finally got it exactly the way you want it, what are you going to do with the people like you? The troublemakers. How are you going to protect your glorious revolution from the next one?"
I don't have a specific speech that I love/like, but I enjoy most of the spoken poetry that I've heard.
