Every cover by Christina Grimmie is my favorite ( R.I.P. love ) , as well as Clarity by Sam Tsui & Kurt Schneider.

 

Johnny Cash's cover of "Hurt" is probably my all time favorite in terms of cover songs go.

 

Apocolyptica and till lindamanns cover of helden by david bowie has only just come into my mind.

Black Veil Brides version of "Rebel Yell" is most likely my absolute favorite cover
I also really enjoy the five finger death Punch version of "house of the rising sun", sleeping with sirens version of "Iris" and disturbed version of "the sound of silence"

 

I also much prefer Nine Inch Nails cover of "Dead Souls" over Joy Division's, which sounds like a sin since I really like JD.

 

Vinyl Theatre's cover of "I Write Sins Not Tragedies" by Panic! at the Disco is almost as good as the original. Also, have to mention P!ATD's cover of "Bohemian Rhapsody" for the Suicide Squad soundtrack. Anyone who covers that song gets a wave of hate because it's so iconic and no cover can hope to live up to the original, but I think they did a good job.

The Disturbed cover of 'the Sound of Silence'

 

The opening theme song to the movie, "The Last Unicorn," was performed by America, the same guys who did "Horse with No Name" and "Venture Highway." The sad thing is, you can't buy this song anywhere, unless you're lucky enough to find an extremely rare copy of the soundtrack for the film on vinyl. I've had to do that for a few films already, like "Jetsons the Movie" for instance, because you can't buy any of the Tiffany songs that she recorded for that film anywhere else.

However, my point is that I was extremely excited to come across this cover of "The Last Unicorn" theme, performed by Danny from the Ninja Sex Party youtube channel. I have no idea what this channel is or what they do on it, never bothered to look into it. All I know is that this cover is fantastic, extremely haunting and beautiful, and satiates my need to own a version of this song, even if the original is still superior in many ways.
