Why did you choose your Profile Name?

Because I love the song starslight from At the Drive In. It's the name I use for other stuff like MMO characters and different sites. But "starslight" wasn't available here so I chose "Starlights"

Also, I really love stargazing and beautiful pictures of the night sky, nebulas, galaxies...

 

Mine is a variation of my middle name...I didn't have the energy to be creative, I guess.

 

Mine was one of the composer Robert Schumann's two personas. I chose it because I like classical music, and because I wasn't sure I was trans at the time and wanted something that sounded ambiguous.

Because my process of coming out and learning to accept myself as a lesbian has been all about finding confidence. Having such an awesome name is a reminder every day that I am awesome.

Early 2013, I discovered EC while doing some research for an unfinished novel. I decided to sign up for EC a few days later. I remember wondering what name to use, and finally ended up going with BMC77, which is derived from that novel. BMC refers to one character--who is gay--and 77 refers to 1977, which is one possible year for part of the novel.

At the time, since the novel was on mind, it was convenient. Although it does seem fitting, given that the unfinished novel brought me here.

 

Well, originally, I wanted to be Nightwing (if that wasn't available I was going to go with DickCheeks) however, when I saw that Batman was available I couldn't not take it!


Batman was the hero that first got me into comics, and although he's kind of a douchebag, and not my favourite character, I still love him

 

I was trying to find a way to incorporate music in my user name, so I scrolled through my music library and saw "Jesus of Suburbia" by Green Day. So I did EmOfSuburbia because Em is my nickname and I live in the suburbs, and it ties into the song.

I am MissMonster because I have a tendancy to see the worst parts of myself prominently. And I'v been working on accepting them little by little, so instead of hiding from it, I wear it proudly now.

 

Because Tennyson is my name and it's an unusual name and I want people to call me it, rather than some silly nickname that I might get tired of.

I feel like I have walked a tightrope across many areas in life. Watching acrobats walking on tightropes makes my palms sweat. I feel as if I have been in their predicament, though only figuratively speaking.

 

As a child, I wanted to conquer the world. I pondered over various titles; 'King' and 'Queen' weren't packing enough, 'President] and 'Prime Minister' didn't sound powerful enough.

'Kaiser' worked. It balanced that regal but classy radiance I wanted.

 

"Dans le placard" is the literal French translation of "in the closet" (though idiomatically it doesn't have the same connotations). As I was in the closet when I joined, and with French being my second language, I decided to go for that name.

I really don't want to use the username I usually use when signing up on forums and other places, for obvious reasons. Emmi-chan is a nickname given to me a while ago and I decided to use it instead.
