I am a pre T FtM asking what happens during sex after a Trans person starts testosterone. I understand that transmen all like different things in the bedroom. I am asking because I heard that taking T causes vaginal atrophy. Can someone explain what this is or what it feels like? I have always enjoyed penetrative sex and I am worried that I won't be able to get wet or still have sex after I start T. I hope I haven't offended anyone, I'm not the best with words. I promise I mean well.

As far as I know, it shouldn't be a problem if used regularly. A friend of mine used to use an estrogen cream to help keep his junk in working order but he'd had a hysterectomy too.

I don't think there's enough research to say something for sure but of what I have seen I don't think there's reason to worry. I heard some rumour about how the vagina could get less elastic while on T and I thought that had happened to me, but my "friend with benefits" managed to put like four fingers at the same time deep inside me so I think I worried for no reason xD (I'm not on T anymore thou, I never tried to put anything inside me while I was on T, but my conclusion is if my vagina works well now the T didn't damage it in any way). I have also heard you could get less wet down there while on T, but some lube should solve that problem. Some trans guys get MORE wet on T as well, I am one of them! I rarely got wet at all before starting T but nowadays I get really wet.

Testosterone causes females to become dryer in the vaginal area, causes sex to be painful without lucubration.

One, really not cool to call trans guys 'females'. Two, it depends on the guy.

I think they meant female as an objective term to refer to the sex, not the gender. It wasn't meant to be offensive, and besides. There are ciswomen who use testosterone, for one reason or another. They were just describing the effects in the female sex, ie, ladyparts.

I'm asking this honestly with the sole purpose of understanding, wouldn't vaginal sex cause dysphoria to someone who is FtM?

It seems it depends on who you ask, as usual.

I'm as confused as you... But I'm also confused when I see someone voluntarily eating wasabi.

Wasabi is great! In very, very small amounts. Otherwise it's too much. :frowning2:

I agree with Michael, the sweetie. (*hug*) Some trans men are okay with vaginal sex, some aren't. As with all sexual partners, it's worth discussing how to be respectful. Never make assumptions about any person's sexuality. (That goes for pre-transition trans women: don't assume they all like anal.)

Like I said, I didn't mean to offend anyone.

Also, lady parts is a term that really annoys that crap out of me. They're not lady parts if they're not on a lady

It can but it really depends on the guy. FTM guys can relate to their parts in different ways. Me, for example, I don't really feel a lot of dysphoria in that regard (no, what really, really gets under my skin, as you can see above, is how I'm referred to. Pronouns, name, you name it) and I guess it kind of helps that I like other men because I almost see my junk as being a license to bottom. In fact, there's a lot of trans male porn actors who will actually have see-u-next-Tuesday sex.

I think in a lot of cases, you just sort of need to ask. Terminology can actually be a huge deal for a lot of guys. For example, I HATE the word 'vagina'. The only time I ever use it is if I'm talking to my doctor. For one, it's super clinical. I don't tell my boyfriend "god, I really want to do stuff to your penis" because it comes out weird. I think that's why slang's kind of a thing in the first place, it almost makes things a little more personal. Some of the things I like calling my junk are things I think might be acceptable in the UK but not necessarily over here without everyone looking at you like you're a terrible person.

Dysphoria can vary for a lot of people. Some guys do have a lot of dysphoria for that part of their body so they probably won't use it for sex. Other guys, not so much.

I really appreciate this unique perspective. I guess I forget that dysphoria can be different for different people, including trans men.

I didn't mean to be offensive, but yes I referred to sex in this case(the vulva and vagina) To much testosterone will also cause menstruation periods to stop. It also has effects on the clitoris, in extreme cases causing it grow into a mini penis(up to 4 inches tall.)

atrophy from what i know causes dry/tightness so that would be taken care of from lube

im not very far on t but ive definitely noticed a change. stuff still happens down there during jacking off but i dont think its quite as much and it stops immediately after, like nothing in the underwear which is awesome but yeah
