That's the problem; I'm sure some of these Republicans actually do support same-sex marriage or at least they don't care about it and could go either way. But they "have to" be opposed to it, because that's one of the defining points of the party, same with the reverse for the Democrats, and why people like Hilary have flip-flopped on the issue.

That may be true to some extent, but across the board, Democratic supporters and Independents are around 30% more likely to be pro same sex marriage than Republicans. Only around 34% of Republicans support same sex marriage, although 61% of Republicans under 30 do. The Republican party pandering to social conservatives likely has a lot to do with them being anti-gay and anti-choice on women's reproductive health rights.

I wonder when he's going to demand a nationwide ban on consuming shellfish and cheeseburgers, wearing mixed fabric clothing, and divorce.

Truth is, few if any of these candidates actually give a rats ass about SS marriage and or what gay people do. Really, the don't care.
But... playing up to the base is the whole game.
Jeb has already caught hell about immigration. And more hell over his brother trashing the economy. And further hell over his failed attempts answering the war question.
So, whats left for Jeb to pull out of his hat of tricks?
Some good ole gay bashing to maybe suck up to his base.
All this shows just how shallow Jeb is as a man, a candidate, and a politician.
    And as a president?
Well, since he has no new ideas of his own, we'd simple see his brothers years repeated all over again.
More war. Bad economic decisions. A lot of the plain ole Bush stupidity. And an administration filled by all of his daddy's old buddies and his brothers old buddies.

But guys like Jeb easily self destruct.
And speaking Spanish isn't going to impress anyone, especially his base.
Republicans felt Obama was a foreigner.
The same republicans will believe Jeb is actually an illegal alien if Jeb keeps up the Spanish.

All of the republican lineup is pretty pathetic at best.
And I trust Hillary to pick apart whom ever they end up choosing to run against her.

I always found it frustratingly amusing that republicans are for "small government" yet want to control who people can marry.

Because he believes in traditional marriage? I believe in the traditional spelling of colour but that isn't a reason to stop people from spelling it as "color".

That's were you're wrong. Republicans claim they want "smaller government" but in reality they just want a different "big government" than liberals

In case anyone thinks 'the American People would surely never elect Jeb Bush to be President because he's too stupid and foolish', well the Australian voting public elected our current nasty, childish, moronic PM Tony Abbott, and what's more he has a fair amount of public support for some of his meanest and most socially regressive policies, too. Anything is possible.

Jeb Bush is like Nigel Farrage of the UK.
He decided to rule out the ethnic community of Britain and the LGBT community which makes up ALOT of the UK. He won alot of the votes by racist scumbags who think that less immigrants that come in, the more benefits THEY get. Sorry if you voted UKIP on here but this is my opinion.
I know USA isn't known for a high ethnic community or LGBT community but what you don't know can kill you. Jeb will get a range of votes across the USA but he won't get high collections of them so he won't get enough votes to be president. He has time to rectify it and I hope he does otherwise he will be another Nigel Farrage!

He clearly has no clue on this issue. If I like apples and he likes oranges, should I ostracize him and shame him because he is wierd and likes oranges?? Of course not. So why should it matter if I like men or women? Is it intruding into his lifestyle? No. Was it a choice to like apples? No. The same logic applies to sexuality. Its all personal preference

Sad thing is, a lot of idiots living in the "bible belt" where I'm stuck at think this is terrific.

One day, they're going to be remembered merely as pictures in a history textbook, just like the people who opposed interracial marriage.

Then, children will laugh at them.

Haven't all of Jeb's children been in trouble with the law (I believe one for burglary, one for public disorder and one for drugs)?

As such he is hardly in the position to preach regarding family values.

I believe it's only 2of 3. His wife was arrested for declaring only $500 value on items she brought back from Paris, when the amount was $20,000.

Nope, it does appear all three:
-George P: George P 'held on burglary charge at 18' - Telegraph
-Noelle: Jeb Bush's Daughter Arrested - TIME
-John: Florida Gov. Jeb Bush's son arrested - US news - Crime & courts | NBC News

And then plus his wife as you mentioned.

AND THEN you of course have the allegations of him being somehow involved in the alleged Bush/Gore vote rigging, which he has never really discussed since. A very dodgy saga indeed.

Now I'm all for rehabilitation and giving people second chances. However having such a colorful family life does make it downright hypocritical of him to claim moral superiority and campaign against the private life of other citizens and families (many of whom are law abiding!).
