I just saw the Vanity Fair cover of the new Caitlyn Jenner, and I have to say she looks good! I'm happy for such a person who's finally able to feel free and be herself, people can be ignorant with their opposing beliefs but that obviously didn't stop her from being who she's always wanted to be. Kudos Miss Jenner.
There's already a thread for this:http://http://emptyclosets.com/forum/entertainment-media/180076-caitlyn-jenner.html But I agree, she's absolutely stunning! I just love that she gets to be herself now.
That's because the link was incorrect. It was mangled by the tag parser. It was http://http http://emptyclosets.com/forum/entertainment-media/180076-caitlyn-jenner.html
My bad... that's strange. I clicked it before I posted and it took me to the thread. Anywho, there ya have it. Thanks, Pret!
Awesome! I love how she's finally able to be herself. I'm really glad for her. I just want to share that it made me extremely sad to hear people on my bus this whole week poking fun at her calling her "freak", "hideous" or "just a desperate pervert looking for attention" Some were "not even wanting anyone to mention her". Not only because I myself am secretly not my birth gender do I find this rather depressing, but because who are they to judge? Who are they to laugh at someone they barely know and have no relation to? What has the new generation of human beings turned into? And why isn't the older doing anything? The driver didn't say anything or defend Caitlyn from their bullying. Then again, neither did I..... I guess that just makes me another heartless bystander. Everyone on this bus is 10-14 years old by the way. I heard many horrible things and I feel like this stuff really needs to be addressed, especially in the technological, judgemental world we live in today. Just some food for thought. ---------- Post added 3rd Jun 2015 at 11:30 PM ---------- Also I agree. She is stunning.:icon_bigg
I have a mixed feelings about this. It's great that she finally gets to be herself and all, but we just can't forget that this person abandoned their kids and also killed someone in a car crash. I know that his children forgave him(at least I think they did) but that doesn't change the fact that he's been absent for most of their lives and there's no excuse for that. A parent should always be present in their child's life no matter what.
It's true, several mistakes were made. Many I don't appreciate at all but I can't help but feel happy for her now that she's finally all the way "out"
I just wish she followed the Kardashian/Jenner trend and spelled her name with a "k." Think about it. There would be Kyler, Kendall, and then Kaitlyn Jenner. Plus their in laws with Kim and Kourtney Kardashian.
I don't follow the Kardashians, nor will I ever. However, I see Caitlyn as a fellow human being who deserves to be herself, and I do think she's pretty brave for coming out. Some of the internet comments are sicking to say the least...
i'm trying not to follow this news for a while.. but I once again see the "God don't make mistake" ideology on transgender because of ciatlyn jenner and im confused and not sure if i should even go on fb for this because this person is an acquaintance anyways, and have religion conflicted feelings. how do people even begin to explain this
jeez i had to block like ten people on Facebook today cause of this anti Caitlyn Jenner shit going on saying she is not a hero. it is just sad.
Not to mention the comments that are extremely transphobic as if it where okay to talk about people like that. I don't even look in the comments section anymore because there's so much hate going on.. I even had to unfriend and block a family member because of the way they said a few things on the subject and then had the audacity to say "Caitlyn is just doing this for attention" :***:
In terms of hero, it has a different meaning for some people. In terms of being a hero it can be used and people oppose it because the person is going about their life or doing their job. Is a fireman a hero when he saves someone or is he just doing his job. Is Caitlyn brave for coming out or is she just being herself. I know in the disability world a lot of people are called heroes by just being themselves, there is a term called inspiration porn to try to redress this labelling as people do know want to be seen as heroes just for being who they are. Thus is she a hero or is she just being herself and because she is from the Kardashian clan gets her transition posted for the world to see. I certainly think she is an icon for people who want to transition or who have transitioned but I'm not sure she is a hero.
