I won a gift basket in a raffle held by a vet and animal shelter. It included a plushie dog. My cat immediately declared it a bitter enemy and fought it valiantly.

The day I don't have to be anywhere until 3 PM, I wake up at 5 AM and can barely fall back asleep.

I can get used to El Capitan. Not a huge OS shift. My Mac seems to be running a little better today, little more efficiently.

Oh, and PSA. Macs are not immune to malware. My boyfriend learned that first hand. For god sakes, Mac people, download some malware detectors.

Today I went to the local career center for my vocational assessment, and it went pretty well. I was out of school for it, but it was worth it because I got to visit the animal sciences room and talk to the birds. There were so many of them there, and they were so talkative. I even did a little dance with one! I saw real axolotls, which I thought was cool, since one of the characters in my graphic novel is based on them. I never expected them to be so small in real life, though. I thought they'd be the size of bearded dragons or something. I also got to pet what felt like the world's softest cat. Overall, the trip made me very happy! It also helped that the woman assessing me was really nice, too. :icon_bigg

    At long last... victory.

I'm about to go treat myself to a nice lobster dinner, because I finally got my sit-down with the mayor.

    Come to me, world...

    I'm fucking ecstatic.

    Prospective parents evening at school.

We had to stay late, and yet they didn't feed us dinner. There was supposedly a break at some point, but we never heard about it until we found out that only the walking tour guides got one because they 'spent the afternoon walking around the school.' Our panto singers were exhausted from singing non-stop for parents, with little time to rest and no refreshments. All they wanted was to go home and go to bed.

    All in all: Just awful.

Cool! I hope it went well for you. I wish I would be worthy of meeting some figure of authority someday, but I'm just a lowly author. The only thing it will get me is a slightly-above-average salary once I start publishing my books. Nothing as good as meeting the mayor of my city to discuss important topics. I am not worthy of being in your presence, Kaiser! I am but an untouchable!

One car accident somewhere in the city and the entire place comes to a gridlock. What the actual fuck. Police had to be called in because traffic was literally not moving for half an hour and people were just leaving buses and walking home instead.

So I finally started talking about Transitioning with my Therapist and she practically opened a door I had no idea existed. I honestly did not know what the process of transitioning in Ontario was, almost at all. So... HRT has been on the mind lately and I'm at the point where I'm like, "LET'S DO THISKJSDBNVJALDBNFLBVAJKCBEF!!!11!111!!" Pretty excited(!)...

Also... I want to draw but I know I suck at it, might as well try anyways...?:eusa_clap

I live about a town away from where it happened...

    --

Hasn't been that good of a day. Got verbally harassed/humiliated by this elderly, transphobic barista at Starbucks. The manager had to intervene. Other baristas/manager were nice but still- one horrible person can ruin your day.

I don't want to leave my house anymore...
