Y'know, Greek and Roman Mythology is fun and everything, but when you have to remember so much for the exam for it, it can get a bit stressful... And I haven't even started studying for my PoliSci exam tomorrow. >.>

It was actually lack of professionalism and lack of planning.

My grandmother was moved out of the ICU yesterday, and could be released from the hospital in as little as a few days. She's off to rehab though once she's discharged, and that will probably be at least a few weeks.

Someone has changed my desktop background to a picture of a fish. I'm more concerned that I can't identify what type of fish it is.

Mmm, still sounds to me like the kind of thing that warrants a warning. Not a full-blown termination on the spot.

I just entered to run a half marathon in December. Sure, as it is now, I'm basically gonna be going 0-13.1 miles in 3 months. That said, I have previously done four half-marathons, so it's not my first rodeo. Probably will need to go to the New Balance store and get new shoes, though.

That said, what I love most about this (besides the motivation to actually start running again) is how relatively cheap my registration was. On the official website it was going to cost me $105 to register (plus 14.99 "fees"). However, I got a LivingSocial email that had the same race for $79.99 and then I found a coupon code to lower it by 15% and my entire registration came out to $68. For that price, I get a Brooks tech t-shirt, a medal, the ability to race a half-marathon in my city along the interesting sites (e.g. Alamo), plus a free beer and snacks at the end (and that's not including the freebies at the expo).

Most background checks don't include stuff from your juvenile days (17 and under), but if you're going into anything involving the legal system, they do.

Why do I mention this? Because I'm looking at my juvenile record and...

Damn. This is only the stuff documented.

People who police public figures every time they see them doing something other than their careers or civil duties come across as so conceited. Yes, Obama has time to have a twitter account. Yes, celebrities sometimes find the time weigh in on public issues that don't evolve around their career. Why? Because these people are not machines. They have to lay around and watch television, play games, surf the web, take days off, etc, because we all do. Because that is how human psychology works.

You're telling me that, as a student, my entire life isn't restricted to being a mean, lean study machine?

People can be defined by things other than their occupations? This is shocking and revolutionary.
