What are you thinking?

Had this random little exchange, several minutes ago, just for the hell of it:

Me: Hey mom, can I ask you a question?
Mom: Okay.
Me: Do you love me?
Mom: *quick look of surprise* Why?
Me: Because I heard you say it to [sister's name] the other day.
Mom: *without hesitation* Well, [sister's name] has her second degree. She's earned it!

I'm not even mad or pissed about that conversation. In fact, I feel happy, because it's confirmed what I've known for years:

You don't get love in this family, you have to earn it.

On the bright side, my sister can't find a job, even with two degrees. And here I am, working one day a week for less than 4 hours, but being paid as if I worked 40 hours a week.

Sometimes, Life can be kind of cool. LOL.

 

I'm so not ready for summer classes... -.-

 

I wouldn't call that cool. Sorry.

Actually... No offense, but I think you don't. We're probably not talking about the same kind of frustration here, if you know what I mean.

 

Especially considering Jason Todd has never even been established in the Arkham Universe it's be terrible if they introduced him out of nowhere and the game just expects everyone to know his backstory with batman loool. Doubt it's a coincidence that Red Hood is playable in the game tho

Step 1) Guy tries to flirt with me.

Step 2) I personify guy as Oprah and unload my U-Haul of emotional baggage on his unsuspecting efforts.

Is my self-esteem that bad? Or am I just avoiding this out of fear. Naïveté is not attractive. Why must I be so bad at flirtation?! Or am I just emotionally slutty and open up to everyone so suddenly?

Let's file this under "Things I Never Thought I'd Have to Deal With".

 

I know there's a lot of psychology and sociology people hereeeeee... The fundamental attribution error is bugging me! All I see is examples of negative events -- ie bob speeds and cuts you off and you assume he's an asshole, rather than trying to get his pregnant wife to a hospital. But, what if youre at a supermarket, and Sally lets you go ahead of her because you only have one item -- do we assume that sally is just a nice person before assuming maybe she's not in a rush or is waiting for her husband to come back with another item they forgot? Or does the fundamental attribution error only apply to situations where someone does something bad?

This review book also presents the self serving bias which goes both ways (bad event = environment, good event = internal factor) but doesn't explicitly say the fundamental attribution error goes both way, only bad event = internal factor of another person.
