Opinion on Energy Drinks

I don't drink them; when I'm tired and I have to work I drink coffee, coke and ice tea (usually 1 or 2 coffees and then a lot of ice tea if I'm home, coke if I'm at school). I don't think energy drinks are so used here: I just met one person who regularly used Red Bulls to prepare tests in High School. At university they sell Red Bull but I rarely saw someone drinking it, everyone drinks liters of coffee and coke to keep the mind focus (as I do).

 

Honestly, I love them. But they are awful for you long term. They're terrible for your teeth and heart. I only drink them when I wake up feeling like I could fall asleep at any second, but I try to stay away from them. The energy they give usually only lasts 2-3 hours for me. My favorite is the Mean Bean flavor by Monster. Gosh, they're so darn good... ;-;

The best energy boost for me is Adderall.

I'm pretty sure Adderall isn't good for your heart either... But lord baby Jesus I get the best rush. Plus, I have ADD, so it's not like I take them for the thrill.

 

I agree they do perk you up but on the down side far to much sugar in them.

 

Much prefer the blood of virgins to start my day.

 

They are complete trash. Obviously.

 

I don't dismiss them entirely. I've relied on some when I've had nights of zero sleep. I haven't had those lately, and I've quit caffeine almost completely (caused sleep issues and I don't like dependencies), so I don't drink them anymore.

I don't think it's a good idea to be drinking them like soft drinks though

 

I drink flavored water now as an alternative. Much better for you overall.

 

I really don't like the taste. Last time I had one I felt really sick for about three hours after. So I haven't dared to drink them since.

 

Not a fan. Never liked it anyway, even the smell is enough to make me sick. But okay, can't hate what you don't know, so I had a sip of Red Bull once, to try it. It tasted terrible.

Not too mention they're also pretty unhealthy.

 

I said maybe. i think they should be treated a little more like alcohol, taken only at particular occasions. Eg: a party or to keep you awake on long shifts.

 

I used to drink a lot of them but no longer do. They are just full of nasties!

 

So unhealthy but so delicious...

 

I couldn't survive without them.

 

I have never had them, caffeinated soft drinks are good enough for me!:icon_bigg

 

I love them, but they're a bit pricey for me now. I used to drink them all the time, at least three or four a week; along with a cup or two of coffee a day--I was practically on a caffeine drip at all times. I've cut down a lot (mostly because I can only afford to have coffee at home now), but they don't do me a lot of good now. I've built up a lot of resistance to the stuff that not even turbo shots or the big cans put a dent in me.

I'm mostly a Monster fan these days, but on rare occasions I get a craving for a Rockstar or NOS (since the ones I used to drink avidly like Jolt are discontinued).

 

Not of fan of drinks like red Bull and monster, But I love drinks like powerade and gatorade.

 

Not a fan of energy drinks. I'll just stick with having two cups of coffee in the morning and my tea for the rest of the day.

 

They don't really work as intended with me. They just make me even sleepier if anything!

 

I've never had one, but as soon chose in the poll, it all depends on the taste.
