There are now two publicly out premiers(similar to American state governors) in Canada that have been elected.

    Kathleen Wynne of Ontario

    And now today:

Wade McLaughlin of Prince Edward Island.

Together those two provinces cover almost 40% of the national population.(Granted that's mostly Ontario :stuck_out_tongue_closed_eyes:) Which is kind of cool to think about.

I found it interesting that in neither I didn't realize until after the election as it wasn't brought up until then prominently nor was it an issue from the opposition parties. It just shows I suppose how people really just don't care for the most part.(I'm not saying there isn't problems, just for the majority it isn't a concern) Even from the right wing.

This article, from before the election, talks a bit about the PEI premier who just won:
P.E.I. Liberal leader could become first openly gay person elected premier in province’s history | National Post

    And on Wynne:
Ontario takes pride that gay premier

Lol, true. But they get 4 senators 4 MP's and 1/10 of the vote on some constitutional matters. So who's in power can actually have a great influence relative to their population.

Which is how it is supposed to be.

WHO they choose to date, marry, or "whatever" is nobody elses business.
As long as it is between two consenting adults.

Gay is not an issue, nor is it any kind of cause to be mudslinging.

I'm from PEI. Hopefully he uses his gay superpowers to fix the province's economy. I'm having a hard time getting enough money to leave this awful place.

Anywhere with a population. I'm thinking maybe Toronto or Ottawa (pref Ottawa) which are both located in Ontario. PEI is the most depressing place in the western world. This place is so shut out from the world, I'm pretty certain most people don't actually know we have a gay premier, or even know what his function is.

This place is a pretty popular tourist location. But I warn you: spend your hard-earned money somewhere good.

I'm from one of those provinces that few pay attention to as well. So I'm more than happy to give them praise.

I loved the Maritimes when I went on vacation there. PEI and New Brunswick were my favourites actually. And I regularly have conversations with Japanese people about PEI because they love Anne of Green Gables! XD
