I am Canadian and the expectation when I travel to the US is that my medications be in the original container. The labels on the container verify a lot of information about the medications. I have never tried to hide the medications and they are visible in the security machines. I have never been questioned about them. I have 6 medications and I am always surprised that they are not curious. I am 63 so maybe I look like no trouble. I would check the German government web site to see what it says about crossing the border with medications.
