It's really a blur for me, but this is as much as I can remember. I was 9 or 10 when my mother, during the usual time she would sit us down and read us bible stories, decided to tell us about the Sodom and Gomorrah story. Before that day, I had no idea that the Sodom and Gomorrah story had gays in it and I had no idea that God was against it. That's as much as I remember.

Can you remember when you first heard that being gay was a "sin?"

Probably on the internet, sometime during my innocent childhood. No one I know is religious enough to talk about sin except in a joking way. The idea of homosexuality being a sin struck me as very strange.

Sunday School, very early. I had to be about... 7 or 8.

It wasn't directly stated to be a sin, just that it wasn't approved, which, I guess, is the same thing.

Before that, it was implied to be a bad thing, because grade school kids would use the word "gay" as an insult. Basically, if you were called gay, it was a bad thing.

Either the internet, or kids at school.

My dad's a Roman Catholic and my mum's a Christian. They only ever made me go to church on holidays, when I was younger, and on a whole, they're not very religious People. I doubt they even knew about the homo-no-no in the bible.

I get so envious of people with not-so religious parents lool. Meanwhile I'm stuck with a control-freak anti-gay mom who fills the house 24/7 with noise from prayer lines and YouTube videos of every evangelist possible and doesn't skip a week of church (unless she's sick and even then she has church at home).

It's really weird how a lot of people, despite going to church, still don't know that the bible says being gay a sin (well even though it's not). I mean I would have thought that since gay marriage is a hot topic now that churches would start speaking more about it. Even the pro-gay churches could just discuss their stance on it.

I don't really know, I lived in Louisiana until I was 7 so it was probably mentioned but I don't remember it. I suppose the first time I remembered would've been when I was 12/13 and 'the guy who thinks he's jesus' was walking about the high street with a sign.

A sin? Sheesh, I think that must've been in college. It was always socially unacceptable (I first heard that implied when I was maybe 8 years old). But a sin? Ours was not a sin-laden household, tg.

Ok here's the thing, I've never actually heard that? No one has ever needed to tell me being gay is a sin, I just figured it out myself at some point maybe on the internet?

From my dad I think... He is a conservative Christian. On the other hand my mom is more open-minded. She understands that homosexuality is natural, and that sin is a choice, therefore being gay cannot possibly be a sin.
*BTW this is my first post... Sooo :smilewave*

Probably from my mother or someone in my family.

It doesn't really matter to me though.
