Prometheus. I'm not usually a Sci-Fi watcher, so I don't know how I stumbled into watching it. It was okay, Sci-Fi movies can be really gross though.

And Charlize Theron character shouldn't have died. All she had to do was move to the right. ugh, so lame. Why do movies make characters die when clearly they could have easily avoided death :rolle:

Jacob's Ladder. Wow. I knew this was the movie the Silent Hill games were inspired on, but this is more like what Silent Hill wishes it was, really. Would love to read the screenplay of this. I can't fathom how you can put this movie in written words and somehow make sense, not without any audiovisual aid. 9/10

RedLine, an anime movie about racing cars. Gorgeous animation overall. 9/10, definitely glad I bought this when I saw it.

Sicario: Contrary to what the horrible title will make you think, it was actually quite good! I have some gripes with how they handled Emily Blunt's character, but overall a very solid movie. Benicio del Toro and Josh Brolin steal the show here (as usual), and, contrived as her role was, Emily Blunt still played her part exemplary. 7/10

Hansel and Gretel: Witch Hunters. It was actually really good. Beaten-up on some witches. Ha. Don't know why critics gave it so much flak.

Crimson Peak. So disappointing. The first movie by Guillermo del Toro that has ever left me cold. The cinematography is stunning, as well as the set, monster, and costume design; to no one's surprise since one of Del Toro's fortes has always been his impeccable taste in the macabre and his eye for detail. The screenplay tho, writing usually being another one of his fortes, is dull as ditchwater.

Watching this movie felt to me like reading Pride and Prejudice, which is not a compliment since I find the latter's writing to be so dated it's utterly inaccessible to me. By the same token, Crimson Peak is so worried with being a period piece it's alienating. Nothing interesting ever happens because that niche it shoved itself into is so limiting, and it certainly doesn't help that every single plot development is telegraphed miles in advance. The characters are all so shallow, rigid and self-serving I couldn't be arsed to give a shit about any of them. And the antagonist(s?) are not menacing in the slightest.

    5/10 would not watch again.

It's a good bad movie. Gretel has the most perfect ass I've seen on the big-screen, so there's that.
