I've watched a few anime movies the past couple of days :icon_redf. Spirited Away(rewatch) ,Madoka Magica trilogy and Evangelion 3.0(huge fan of the EVA franchise)
V for Vendetta for the 10000th time. Just love it. And I LOVE V's personality. And played by Hugo Weaving. Mmmm love that guy.
Havent watch that yet but i'm glad you posted... i'll save my $5 for better movie in the future Anyway I watched this movie like 6 hours ago Nightcrawler (2014) Spoiler
Ooh, I watched Nightcrawler recently too! Mostly because of Jake Gyllenhaal. Last movie I watched, though, was Mad Max: Fury Road. And it was actually pretty damn enjoyable. Loved Furiosa.
Battan (1943) Not a bad film. It's set in 1942, as the Imperial Japanese are invading the Philippines, and the Allied forces are falling back into retreat. To delay the invaders, 13 men, seemingly randomly, are chosen to stay behind and do just this. It has one of the wildest siege scenes I've ever seen in a film, from that era. I'm talking hand-to-hand combat, pistol whipping, precision-thrown grenades, samurai swords, and insane reflexes (some of those gunfire dodges are LOL-wut?). Aside from that scene, two things stood out to me: The guy who played 'Ricky Ricardo' in I Love Lucy was one of the 13 men. And one of the characters was black, which is a reason this film wasn't originally shown in the South, so for that alone, I watched it. It also helps I like World War II-set pieces and survival scenarios, where folks are taken out/killed one-by-one, which this provided both of. The ending was also kind of morbidly touching, too. None of that "HOORAY! HERE COMES THE REINFORCEMENTS!" nonsense, that so many war films do. But if you know the history, well, you already know how this plays out... Not a masterpiece, but considering it was on TCM on a Sunday, I'm not pissed about it. ** 1/2 out of ****.
Fixed that for you _______________ Breakfast Club I love this movie <3 This movie never fails to make me laugh and cry even though I have watched it for several times <3.
Watched the 4th pirates of the Caribbean movie last friday in my AP class. Love all the movies and could watch them a million+ times each.
Watched Good Bye Lenin last night. It's a German movie I got from Netflix. It's about a guy in (the former) East Germany whose mother is in a coma when the Berlin Wall falls. She was really loyal to the socialist government so when she wakes up he tries to keep her from finding out it happened. It was actually really good and made me think, and managed to balance funny and sad which is tough to do.
I don't like or watch movies often. But I believe the last one I watched was Dumb and Dumber? I watched like 30 minutes of The Cobbler, though.
I watched Hunter x Hunter: Phantom Rouge recently. I have to say I was disappointed with how this movie played out, generally. The villain was weak (from a storytelling perspective) and they didn't properly explain what his motivations were for mistreating his sister in the first place. The rules governing his ability are rather shaky and flimsy as well, which is sad to see in a series that prizes itself on creating complex fighting mechanics. This movie should've been called Hunter x Hunter: Take a Shot Every Time Leorio Is Sent Flying.
