Hi! Just this morning I was looking for some advice online or helpful information to deal with loneliness... Turns out I didn't find much in Spanish, but luckily ended up discovering this fantastic site in English. So, I decided to set up an account and introduce myself I live in Mexico City and I am doing a doctorate on communication, I love reading more than anything else. I was in a committed relationship that lasted for two years: however, it was a long distance relationship and, given that my girlfriend was always too busy to talk, I had been feeling lonely long ago before the break up. I know people around the world think Mexicans are noisy and extroverts, but in my case that's not true: I have no trouble talking to people or hanging out, but I am definitely more of an introvert. So, it's hard to make new friends, the ones I have are amazing but most of them are straight and just don't get what it feels like to be a lesbian in a conservative, religious environment like the one we have here. Same sex marriage is legal in Mexico City: however, people are rather homophobic, which makes thing hard for gay people. So, I decided to join this community: hopefully I will find people I can relate to. I love sharing ideas and listening to different points of view, so I hope I'll get to do just that in this site
