What I like about this is that people can't get all pissed off and boycott Delta. Like in my area, Delta is pretty much the only way you can fly anywhere! (Okay, whatever. You take Alaska Air to SEA, SLC, MSP, and then Delta.)

I'm with a major financial services firm and we do the same thing--it's great that a company would put their own money out there to address an inequity in the tax system.

It's dreadful that private companies have to lose money to do the right thing by their employees because of the failures of those who are bound to serve the public interest.

Yes, it absolutely is. However, given the evil of a substantial minority of Americans, it's a necessary step.

I love monopolies. I'm happy about this but praising the fact that a private airline company essentially is a monopoly.... What if they went against gay rights... Couldn't botcott them either.

I'm also with a major financial services firm that did this. Note the past tense, I'm not sure what the big deal is - this isn't really necessary anymore in a post-DOMA world - at least not in the states that we principally have people in.

I guess the message is "get married or face the tax man like your heterosexual peers" :frowning2:

I hate monopolies too. But we live in a world of corporate merchantilism, so there's not much to do about it.

Overwhelmingly, this particular trend is in our favor. Delta is actually quite a bit behind in this regard.

I think a majority, or at least a very sizable percentage, of Delta's employees are in Georgia which doesn't allow marriage.
