Annie on my Mind (Nancy Garden) - very sweet love/coming out story.

Ash** and Huntress (Malinda Lo) - fantasy themed, and based on classic fairy tales; Ash is especially good

Sappho's Fairy Tales and The Witch Sea (Sarah Diemer) - again, based on classic fairy tales; there are more from Sarah Diemer which I can't think of right now, and her partner Jennifer Diemer writes too

Tales from the City** (Armistead Maupin) - a series which was famously made into a radio serial in the 70s/80s; features a cast of LGBT characters including - my favourite - Mrs. Madrigal highly recommended

Will Grayson, Will Grayson and Boy Meets Boy (David Levithan) - someone already mentioned David Levithan, but he's worth mentioning again; he's a big name in LGBT YA fiction

Giovanni's Room** (James Baldwin) - classic romance, very well written with real literary appeal

Some I have yet to read:

The Price of Salt (Patricia Highsmith)

Desert of the Heart (Jane Rule)

The Miseducation of Cameron Post (Emily M. Danforth)

    Nightwood (Djuna Barnes)

The Well of Loneliness (Radclyffe Hall)

...those are some of the ones off the top of my head, anyway. I'll post again/edit if I think of more.

**Starred books are my favourites/personal recommendations

Keeping You a Secret - Julie Anne Peters.

It's relatable, and very interesting. One of my favorites
