The bomb was ready for Germany long before the Battle of Berlin, but we dropped it on Japan because they weren't white. America could have easily overthrown Japan by conventional means, but we used a weapon of otherworldly power on them simply because they "talked the ching chong talk and have shifty slanty eyes" to paraphrase various 1940s anti-Japanese propaganda. The atom bomb was all 'fair game' as long as no white people were getting hurt by it.

I don't agree with it's use either, but I can't believe that's true. We used it because we were deeply saddened and angry after Pearl Harbor. That certainly doesn't make it okay, but it wasn't just because 'white people'. Nobody "engineered" AIDS either.

In 5 years on the internet I've lost any notion of what's offensive and what's not xD

Why did you find that offensive if you don't mind me asking?

I don't know if he ever apologized for it, but a creationist on youtube said that not only the Bible foretold the Holocaust (and implied they deserved it) and that (pretty much) amputees don't deserve their limbs because it was a direct punishment from god.

    Yes, it certainly can be.

To answer your question (which is somewhat overdue), it isn't just one thing that I stumbled upon. It's an assortment. However, since almost all of them are quite disturbing, I'll have to go with the least disturbing:

There's a website dedicated to dressing up/presenting stillborn infants. I suspect this is a way for parents to cope with loss...

But it's only the tip of the iceberg...

... and this rabbit hole ain't fun at times.

Yes it is...I've read soooo many mean things on a certain Gay porn blog...If the performers aren't what the audience considers attractive, the audience insults them...The most brutal one was on a threesome video that said:
"I'd rather eat my own puke than doing it with one of these three turds..."

When I see nasty pranks online I really find it offensive. Not funny at all.

Supremacists in any extreme. Nothing's quite so simultaneously offensive and horrific as stumbling across something tagged "#Kill All [insert group here]".

I'd say any type of religious scripture.

I find it all quite offensive.

    Happy days

That thread about the anti gay day at that school in PA. It makes me sick that parents would allow their kids to grow up with such hatred and the kids themselves for being such small minded, homophobic losers.

I live not too far from a rural area, its amazing the amount of people that think its okay to wear plaid shirts tucked into jeans and wear steel toed boots and look like hicks and drive around in POS trucks with confederate flags and hate blacks and gays.

I hate to stereotype but the same group of people were going around making videos of them "coal rolling" people on bicycles in my area not that long ago.

Coal Rolling is where you drive around in a diesel truck and step on the gas until a cloud of black smoke goes everywhere

I know this is kind of derailing the thread here, but the bomb was used because of several reasons.

    1. Japan wouldn't give up, mostly because of their Bushido code. More specifically, their leader wasn't going to give up.

    2. We wanted to get Japan to surrender by hopping from island to island, and while we did take Okinawa, Japan's leader still wasn't giving up. He had a very quickly-declining army in numbers, and he still wouldn't give up. He was basically endangering too many of his people, both in the army and not.

    3. The United States was way more focused on fighting Japan than Germany, who by the time we entered, already wasn't looking too hot, with England on one side, and Russia on the other. Japan was also the only country to actually do anything to us, as mentioned. We didn't declare war until then.

    4. Germany was already done for, and there was really no need to keep the war going. There had to be an end to it, and this was the only thing that could get Japan's leader to stop.

I'm not saying there was no racism in the US towards Japanese people. There clearly was, with the unwarranted concentration camps. I also don't think their placement of the bombs was entirely justified, either (2 places full of innocent civilians, and they were placed there to make them look bigger and more powerful than they actually were). They could have just as easily won the war with one bomb where the leader was. Granted, that would probably be Tokyo, and might have killed even more innocent civilians.

I keep up to date with the pro-choice scene in Ireland and some of the stuff you hear from certain pro-life groups/people is really disgusting and despicable. Things like 'should have kept your legs shut', 'abortion won't un-rape her', 'having an abortion doesn't make you un-pregnant, just makes you the mother of a dead baby' etc.

Having that opinion is fine. Staging a mob outside an abortion clinic and screaming it at women who are walking in and out the doors is not fine. It's bullying, it's harassment, it's trying to scare someone out of a legal, private medical procedure. For me, there is very little that disgusts me more than people who do this and think they're doing 'God's work' or whatever.

What worries me is if you dredge through the annals of the internet you find there are many millions of bigoted, sexist, homophobic, racist, scumbags and it wouldn't take civilization to collapse much for gays, people who are an ethnic minority where they live, disabled people etc being publicly murdered. The hatred under the surface is scary, it really is.

I hear offensive things every single day......

Stupid, brainless morons opening their mouths and flaunting their ignorance and stupidity like it's something to be SO damned proud of.

Corrupt government officials standing in front of a camera blatantly and obviously lying with every word they speak.

Anybody who just lies with every word they speak and act like nobody knows the difference.
