Accepting took an eternity. Still adjusting.

OMNIST. I acknowledge all religions for the good in them and practice several of them including Taoism, Shinto (Japanese folk), Christianity and more. Helps with understanding different cultures

I've always been attracted to women but I first came out at age 14.

Funny thing is that I had always accepted my sexuality until this year... I started to feel bad about it a couple months ago but I'm alright with it now

I'm cisgender. I was a tomboy when I was a child but that's gone now.

Atheist.

I'm a lesbian.

Probably periwinkle. It's really such a pretty color.

3) When did you find out that you were LGBTQ+?
I mean the signs were there, but I didn't really figure it out until I was 15.

4) Did it take a long time adjusting to your sexuality or accepting it?
It took some time. I didn't really like the idea of it at first, and I had to deal with some of my own internalized homophobia. Being bullied about it before I really discovered it myself didn't help. After a year or so I just came to accept it, and feel okay about it.

5) Are you cisgender or transgender? If you're transgender, what do you like to be referred to?
I'm cisgender.

6) What religion are you?
I'm an atheist. I actually grew up without religion, and the concept of it is sort of foreign to me. Personally, I've never needed it or seen the need for it, but it's a big part of some people's lives and it's fascinating to me.

7) Have you lost any friends or connections due to your sexuality?
Nope. Which is lovely.

8) Were/are you popular in high school?
In certain circles. Generally I'm just the type of person most people know and say hello to, and I have a certain amount of respect. I'm a friendly person, and I mingle with all types, and so people just are fond of me. I mean I'm not getting invited to parties all the time, but people say hello to me in the hall and take an interest in me.

9) What else do you think the world needs to do in order for the LGBTQ+ community to have equality and rights?
Too many things. I think that culture needs to catch up, and stop demonizing LGBTQ+ people. Representation in the media and education is likely a great start for getting these more positive messages out there. I think legally that it can't just stop at same-sex marriage. There are other equally important measures that need to go through, including protections for LGBTQ+ people in the workplace and hate crime protections.

Ooh, that's a hard one. Probably Barton Hollow by The Civil Wars.

11) One fun fact about you?
I'm learning Mandarin Chinese. It's actually not as hard as you'd think.

 

1) What sexual orientation are you?
I identify as Queer, with a capital Q to shove it in people's faces (my Queer is also political). I often call myself gay though, for simplicity's sake. I'm very seldom attracted to anyone, but when I do find myself attracted to someone, that someone is usually a woman. I won't go more into detail than that.

2) What's your favorite color?
I like red, orange, yellow, green, blue and purple if you put them next to each other in that order.

3) When did you find out that you were LGBTQ+?
Well, I guess last Autumn (2014) when I fell for a woman. It had been on my mind before that, but she sort of brought it to light in a whole new way.

4) Did it take a long time adjusting to your sexuality or accepting it?
No, not really. The most difficult part was figuring it out. Heteronormativity had me believing I simply wasn't 'special enough' to be anything but straight.

5) Are you cisgender or transgender? If you're transgender, what do you like to be referred to?
Cisgender female. And my privilege makes me able to leave it at that without raising any questions.

6) What religion are you? I just like hearing about religion because I find different views interesting.
Agnostic atheist. I'm still a member of the Swedish church though (as I was baptized), but I'm going to leave it soon.

7) Have you lost any friends or connections due to your sexuality?
No. Anyone who would have a problem with me due to my sexuality is not someone I would consider to have ever been a friend to begin with. It might sound cliche, but I think that you rarely lose friends, you just realize who your real ones are. That being said, people have been very supportive when I've come out.

8) Were/are you popular in high school?
I've never been the one who has large amounts of friends, because it's not something that interests me. However, I've always had a quite high status, for some reason.

9) What else do you think the world needs to do in order for the LGBTQ+ community to have equality and rights?
Well, there's definitely a difference between having the same rights and being equal. Having the same rights and being protected by law etc, is certainly an important step towards equality though.
Answering exactly what I think needs to be done to reach equality (if that's even possible) is far too complicated to do here. There are too many factors which plays a part. In different parts of the world, the situations will be different and therefore warrant different measures.
I also think the LGBTQ+ community needs to work on itself.

10) What's your favorite song at the moment?
Hmm... It's difficult to just pick one. My favourite artist is definitely Håkan Hellström (Swedish). I would say that currently, "Brännö Serenad" and "Gårdkvarnar och Skit" are the ones that stands out.

I can turn my belly button inside out. It's a real gift.

Always have some attraction for transsexuals girls and some boys when huge then, mainly when was a child. When I reached in my teenage I had a f*** afraid to start like boys and always said to myself ''I'm straight''. Time passed, I open my mind and a few weeks ago I decide explore my sexuality.

All this things are recent to me. Yes, is something that come to me since always hidden me, but in this moment I'm exploring myself and I have a lot of doubts and questions that will be answered in right time!

Cisgender

I'm deist.
Belief in God, a god that create the universe and all creatures, but not in your intervention. In other worlds, all that happens with us is our responsibility because God give us brains to use and make our own choices and the naturals phenomena in the true God's word. With this, in a deism vision, don't exist heaven and hell, just the reality.


7) Have you lost any friends or connections due to your sexuality?
Until now, I coming out to 3 great friends: Two them are bisexuals and one is a allied. But I know that in the future when I coming out to the world, some ''friends'' will turn your backs to me.


8) Were/are you popular in high school?
Yes, but...
I most part I suffered bully from a lot people. But in same time I make a little sucess in my school days. Since my excellent behave in class room, my high score in exams to sing rap (long history :lol: )


9) What else do you think the world needs to do in order for the LGBTQ+ community to have equality and rights?

More that gay marriage! The society human needs a urgent people revolution in your all sectors! (Yes, I'm talk about socialism. Not, not ''reforms in capitalism'' but smash this class system :badgrin: )We need a equal society and a equal LGBTQ+, because inside this community exist a lot of prejudice, mainly against poors, blacks, transexuals, bisexuals, pansexuals, etc. Sometimes, this community should be called '' Withe, rich , cisgender and monogamic LG - WRCMLG''! :dry: Anyway, the question is that! To have not just LGBTQ+ really equal but all society sectors we need put a end in class struggles and all together build a society for all people with true freedom and equality!

Yes, it is taking a very long time. Really depends on when you start keeping track (9 yrs minimum).

Transgender female. I really prefer female pronouns, but I'll tolerate others.

Revolutionize their understanding of both gender and sex by realizing that they aren't interchangeable, and that a person's worth isn't contingent on reproduction.

9) it all comes down to the fact that half of the people hating are probably questioning and the rest are simply hateful. They can be hateful as much as they want but if more people begin to accept more or even not think about it... We don't even need them to accept we just need them to ignore it if they don't like it.

3) When did you find out that you were LGBTQ+? well, first starting to feel sexual attraction to guys when I was 13. I fully accepted it when I was 54.
4) Did it take a long time adjusting to your sexuality or accepting it? yeah, about 40 years. and I went through all the homophobic reactions too before I got there.
5) Are you cisgender or transgender? If you're transgender, what do you like to be referred to? cisgender. happily male, happily attracted to males, and happiiest having sex with males.
6) What religion are you? Roman Catholic. Not happy with the church's positions on most issues regarding family and sexuality, but I see it as my dysfunctional family. If I leave, it will just be that much less tolerant.
7) Have you lost any friends or connections due to your sexuality? no, because I've only come out to people whom I consider safe
8) Were/are you popular in high school? no. it was probably the worst time of my life. the worst part is that I now know that most of the people I was closest too were also gay, but we didn't know it. were it today, we might have had a great time in high school
9) What else do you think the world needs to do in order for the LGBTQ+ community to have equality and rights? we can't stop fighting for equality. I don't like the term "gay marriage," because I prefer "marriage equality." That's what we're fighting for, not some special gay privilege but just to be treated equal to everyone else.

1) What sexual orientation are you?
If I need a label, I'm gray-asexual. I don't really find people sexually attractive. But when I find someone special to me, I definitely feel something for them. I've only ever found people attractive after we'd started dating.

If I don't need a label, I honestly don't know that one fits.

I really like green, and grey, and yellow.

3) When did you find out that you were LGBTQ+?
That's a little tricky. I didn't really realise I was trans until I was 18 - before then, I knew that I didn't identify myself as female, but I didn't know that I could be trans. I didn't even know transmasculine people existed. Before puberty, I thought a tomboy was a boy that happened to be a girl. After puberty, I was disillusioned by the fact that I got the body I got, and figured I just had to live with it.

I knew I was ace since I was maybe 13 or 14, when other people started expressing sexual attractions to other people and I couldn't relate to it.

4) Did it take a long time adjusting to your sexuality or accepting it?
Not really. To be honest, I don't think about my sexuality much at all.

5) Are you cisgender or transgender? If you're transgender, what do you like to be referred to?
I'm a transmasculine individual. And I'm more comfortable with that every day.

6) What religion are you? I just like hearing about religion because I find different views interesting.
I grew up Catholic, but it didn't stick. In high school and college I played around with Wicca and neo-paganism, but I don't have faith in anything really. I'm an agnostic apatheist - I don't know if there's a god or not, and I don't really care.

7) Have you lost any friends or connections due to your sexuality?
Nope. I did have one boyfriend that didn't handle my asexuality well because he confused it with sex-repulsion, but I didn't lose him over that.

8) Were/are you popular in high school?
Not in the slightest. At best, I was widely ignored. At worst, I was harassed. I wasn't really a fun person back then, anyway. I was terrible and insecure, and riddled with body image issues no one else could relate to or understand, and I dissociated from my surroundings, my friends, my family, and myself constantly.

9) What else do you think the world needs to do in order for the LGBTQ+ community to have equality and rights?
Pull its head out of its ass and realise that people are people, and they deserve respect.

10) What's your favorite song at the moment?
Oh god, just one?

Maybe "Punk Rock Girl" by the Dead Milkmen. It's been stuck in my head a lot lately, anyway.

I used to speak some conversational Russian, but now the only thing I know how to say is "I love dancing on tables".

I have known about my sexuality for a very long while. I just never rationalized it. I just assumed it was a phase. I told myself that it was wrong. It was my acceptance of this which pushed me to look on here. I saw lots of posts by gender-non-binary and transgender people, and it just clicked.

4) Did it take a long time adjusting to your sexuality or accepting it?
Yes, see above. But once I rationalized it into a label, I was fine.

5) Are you cisgender or transgender? If you're transgender, what do you like to be referred to?
I am transgender female. Probably. I might be demigirl or genderfluid... But this is fine for now. I like female pronouns. I am not so much a fan of "they", but it's better than "he".

Devout atheist. Maybe a little agnostic - there isn't enough proof either way. It's like saying "there is pink teapot named Steve orbiting a remote star in the Andromeda galaxy." There is no way you can tell if there is one, nor if it is pink or blue or green. We don't even know if it is named Steve or Lilly or Earl. So why will I spend my whole life insisting that that teapot is there, it's pink and named steve? Why would I die for that teapot which may or may not exist.

7) Have you lost any friends or connections due to your sexuality?
No. But I will do. I know for certain at least two of my friends will be wierded out, and one will probably never want to talk to me again. And I honestly couldn't care less about him, if that were to happen.

I have a few close friends, and an extended friends group. All the teachers like me as well. So I guess, yes. Maybe not so much after I come out...

9) What else do you think the world needs to do in order for the LGBTQ+ community to have equality and rights?
Better awareness of transexual issues, better sex education for gay/bi/lesbian/trans(*)/intersex/asexual people and their partners.

I realized when I was about 10 that I feel something more than just friendship for my female friends. I didn't know what it meant then, but found out about homosexuality at a bit later stage (Let's say around 14).

I went through many questioning stages, but I accepted my same-sex attractions at about the age of 16, which is also when I had my first same-sex kiss and first girlfriend.

People in general need to be more open-minded and accepting of people who are different from their "ideals." (Instead of a heteronormative community, it needs to become homosupportive, if that makes sense)

Hmm... If I absolutely HAVE TO choose a song, then I'd say an Afrikaans song by an artist named Juanita du Plessis. The song's name is "Kaalvoetkind." Very catchy tune. Google it if you're curious

Well, it's hard to adjust when you're not quite sure what it is yet. As for acceptance, it's taken a few months for me to accept that I'm not straight. I've come a long way since January with the help of a mentor and friends.

I was raised catholic, but it's more complicated than that. I'm not sure of my beliefs exactly, but nature is my god.

I have not lost friends yet. I have quite a few friends who don't know yet though, so I'm not exactly in the clear.

My school is a little different when it comes to popularity. There never really was a defined popular crowd. My school is really big on the fine arts, though so actors, singers, artists, etc are pretty popular I guess. I'm in that group, so suppose you could say I am "popular"
9) What else do you think the world needs to do in order for the LGBTQ+ community to have equality and rights?
I think the LGBTQ+ community needs to step up for civil rights. We need to take a lesson from MLK Jr. and employ the tactics of civil disobedience.

This is a hard one haha. I really like Uptown Funk right now but a song that I think will stay with me forever is Corner of the Sky from Pippin

I have perfect pitch. I can see a note on the page, hear it in my head, and be able to sing it in a matter of seconds. It comes in handy often since I have to sight-read a lot of music

We should think of people as people. Other things are only characteristics. She's blonde, he has black skin, she's gay, he has blue eyes. Its idealist but time and good education could help us get there. Eventually.

In Canada we pretty much have LGB legal and human rights, we are lacking on the trans rights though I am an activist and an advocate.
