I don't have a problem with alcohol use as long as it's in moderation... I'm not really a drinker though, I'm usually the designated driver friend, but I will have the rare drink on occasion and I have fun with it, but I never really get drunk. I personally hate the taste of beer, my tastes are usually for sweeter fruity drinks... I don't keep any alcohol in the house though save for some wine and sake I use for cooking...

I don't mind drinking in moderation...I drink infrequently and always socially...occasionally I'll have a quiet drink alone, but that's once in a blue moon...usually a single malt or a glass of port...I hate drinking bouts like New Year's Eve or St. Patrick's Day amateur hour...drinking is about savoring something special and enjoying the company you're with.

I drink very, very occasionally. A handful of times a year.

I didn't get drunk until I was 25. That was only a few months ago. It was weird. But it was at home with my fiancée and we made sure to look after one another. I think I had just over half a litre of vodka over a few hours. I wasn't well after, but didn't really have a hangover.

My last drink was at new year.

My family has a history of heavy drinking and alcohol abuse (though not alcoholism as far as I know). I don't want that. I suspect I could quite easily be a heavy drinker if alcohol was a regular part of my life. I also have mental health issues that I worry could be exacerbated by alcohol. Drunk people make me uncomfortable. I don't generally like the taste.

I am not against alcohol, but I generally prefer to avoid it.

My drinking habit is once a year on New Year's Day. Some years it becomes twice with a summer night beer or two.

I am okay with "social" drinking but I would never romanticly link myself to someone drinking regularly. It is one of the deal breakers for me with using drugs.

Those who keep it together, fine. Those who have a good time with it, fine. Those who realize, we all have our ways of winding down or cutting lose, so don't be judgmental, fine.

But the moment you start becoming violent or an idiot, we have a problem. Which is what alcohol tends to do, especially the more people you add to the drinking circle.

Personally, I don't like alcohol, because it makes my stomach upset. Though ironically, the one thing I can drink, alcohol-wise, without feeling sick, is Everclear, mixed with Hawaiian Punch.

I've just never had enough to get drunk. In fact, I've never been drunk. Can't get past the taste or the upset stomach, and so I stick to a shot on special occasions.

I work in a bar and drink alot when i can. Before this job i was out 2-4 nights a week drinking a litre of vodka a time. I just enjoy it, and have always been a heavy drinker. I started about 15/16 which is quite late for people in the north of scotland. Pretty much most socialising here will involve alcohol, whether a couple of pints or a full night out. Its a cultural thing.

Now i work weekends i tend to only drink once a week heavily, though maybe twice this week cos i havent been out in 11 days!

I will never drink either. I don't see the point of getting messed up when I can have just as much fun sober. I don't like the idea of not knowing where I am or what I've done. Drinking is also detrimental to your health, just like smoking.

My parents drink as well, and I've seen and been offered my fair share of alcohol. I will respectfully decline each time.

Hmmm, I mean I have tried some drinks before and truthfully I can't stand the taste of them. I am fine with social/occasional/moderate drinking as long as people don't go out of control with it.

Drinking in moderation is fine. I don't understand the appeal of getting drunk.

When I was around 23 or 24 I would drink maybe once a week with friends, but I have gotten out of that. I haven't had a drink of alcohol in years. Personally, I never have really liked the taste of alcohol too much.

I dont find any satisfaction/pleasure in drinking. Tho I have tried drinking with my cousins but I get drunk as soon as I finished my 2nd glass (I am weak like that).

Drinking is fine in small amounts and I don't care if you carefully drink. However, people who get absolutely smashed on a regular basis and end up putting themselves or other people in harm are not people I like at all.

I like getting drunk, yeah. Might as well enjoy it now while my body can still knock back a hangover like it's nothing.

Oh well. I'd like to know why some say "I love Baileys" or "I like Disaronno". :stuck_out_tongue_closed_eyes: I'm too curious haha.

Drinking in moderation and not getting completely obliterated I think is ok. My dad used to get, and still does to a lesser extent, crazy drunk and he is not all that nice when he's like that. If I wasn't allergic to alcohol, I think I would enjoy having some drinks with my friends or at parties and such. All in all, drinking isn't as big a turn off for me as smoking.

Depends on the circumstances. If its dinner, then wine is good. After exercise specially if something happened, like escaping injury (like mountain bike crash), then a beer or two to celebrate survival. For socializing, yep a beer or two. But the main point is, moderation and as soon as you feel you've "got to have a drink" meaning it's becoming a human habit, it's time to cut back.

I also wouldn't date someone who drinks unless It's in a low/healthy amount. I actually find alcohol worse since I've been negatively affected by alcoholism in the family; I've never seen any cases of violence or rape culture caused by cigarette smoking like I have with people who were intoxicated. And I grew up in a house with a verbally abusive alcoholic who was actually a nice person when he wasn't drinking.

With that being said, I drink sometimes, but I've -NEVER- gotten drunk, and I expect my partner to live a mainly sober life as well.

I have no problem with it even though I have not had alcohol before. I'll just be a broken record and say "moderation" like everyone else. I don't have a problem with getting drunk either, as long as it's not to the point of being sick or making a habit out of it.

I do enjoy having drinks with friends every once in a while, but I definitely know my limit and when to stop. I don't do it often, maybe a couple of days a month and I have only been drunk once or twice. Started when I was in college.

I don't like drunk people though, my grandfather was a drunk. He was also like a chimney, he would always have a glass of something in one hand a smoke in the other and it was never fun seeing him drunk. I suppose that is why I was never very fond of him. He died of lung cancer.
