Aaah! New forum! New user post! Aaah! I do not like new user posts. But, I am one! And, um. I am here. So far, so good! I'm not particularly new to the whole gender-and-sexuality scene, although I've been doing a lot of thinking lately and realizing that I'm not as simple as I thought I was. Been comfortably bi for most of my life, dating mostly the opposite gender, and am now discovering the joys of dating someone who looks a lot like me, and suddenly having everyone ask me what it's like to be "gay now!". Also, having everyone ask me if my partner is my sibling. (Yup, that's totally it. We make out all the time for ... uh. Family bonding.) Identified as cisgender until about a year ago because I never really thought about it, and also because nobody had ever pointed out that "desperately wanting the other gender's genitalia" is not a part of what most people consider the standard cis experience. Y'all are weird. I've done a lot of soul-searching in the realm of the genderqueer (dude, that should totally be the title of my next urban-sci-fi novel) and discovered that for me, 'guy' and 'girl' are not so much mutually exclusive as they are nifty and often-complementary seasonings. Still trying to figure out what that means in my daily life, but it's a fun time. My kitten is also way too fond of human flesh.
