well, i did it...... and i'm out....

    i was at my parent's house for supper, and after supper i said to them that i had to talk with them. i told them that this won't change who i am and that it has nothing to do with my divorce. and then i told the, "i'm not straight, i'm not gay, i'm Bi." they said they it didn't matter, i had to live my life and not for them but for me. you are who you are and no one can change it. i said "thank you" then we moved on. i did a fair big of crying but i feel better, like now i can move on. i guess it's like so many here have said the fear of coming out is far greater than the reality.

    Congratulations!!!! Coming out to my parents was harder than coming out to my wife. I'm so happy that your parents reacted so well. You are a lucky guy. It is soooo true about the fear of coming out. We just punish ourselves so much worrying how others will perceive us.

    I'm glad it went well with your parents. It must be comforting to have parents you can rely on for support. MY father has passed away but I think he would have been supportive. My mother is sadly incapable of being a supportive person so she will stay in the dark.

    thanks, sorry about your dad and the problems with your mom. to be honest i was terrified that they would turn away from me because of their faith and a few other things. you could have knocked me over with a feather to be sure
