That list has certainly dwindled over the year. There used to be some ones I was obsessed with when I was younger. They don't make the list today, haha.

Attack on Titan is probably my favorite at current
    .
I have always loved Death Note and there will be a special place in my heart for it always.

It's not a series, but the Anime 'Omae Wa Umasou' is one of the greatest movies I have ever seen. Seriously, look it up if you've never heard of it. Or under the other name, 'You Are Umasou'. I promise that you won't be disappointed. And also that it is not a children's Anime, despite the appearance. Just give it a try. ;D

Similarly, I have to mention Arashi no Yoru Ni. I'm apparently a sucker for these types of stories with forbidden friendships. It's also not a series, but a movie, but the animation quality is still out of this world and unique, and the story is amazing. Though it's the characters that really make it. You should definitely check it out if you have the time.

Natsume Yuujinchou is another one that is extremely special. Not many people have heard of it and I wish that it would change. It's heartwarming, has action, mystery, and sadness. It's about a boy who inherits a book of names. In this world, names are as good as souls, so the spirits are wise to keep them a secret. Anyways, the seal gets broken and all the names go free, releasing spirits. So the guardian of this book and Natsume have to go off and get them all again; often seeing what it was like for these people and healing old wounds before they are put to rest. It's wonderful.

Shaman King was another of my favorites. It's way more Shoujo, though. Classic fighting and such. But the characters are what makes it special. Will always love Shaman King. Probably the only dub I've ever approved of, too. Probably because most of those voice actors that were chosen were actually from broadway and other places, so they didn't have that stale 4Kids stigma about them. c: I loved it.

All I can really talk about, haha. There have been others, but none have drawn me in like these ones. I think it's a bit more of an unconventional list. But let me know what you think! And if you've seen those movies I've talked about- I instantly love you and you should totally talk to me about it. XD

The plural of Anime is Anime, so the title should be 'favourite Anime', not 'favourite Animes'. Just Sayan (couldn't resist).

Err, soo... Black butler, tokyo ghoul, death parade, avatar/legend of korra, deathnote, Attack on titan, I've said enough times. Seriously. There are loads of threads like this.

Rose of Versailles (my favorite animated series of all time)
    Attack on Titan
    Legend of the Galactic Heroes
Sailor Moon (yes, but definitely with caveats to what seasons)

I actually really enjoy Studio Ghibli movies too. They're easy, generally lighthearted, fun ways to spend two hours. My favorites being Nausica of the Valley of the Wind(i know the technicality of Ghibli after Nausicaa but spiritually it counts!), Castle in the Sky, and Spirited Away.

Shiki, Corpse Party, Higurasi no Naku Koro ni, Kuroshitsuji

    Also Shoujo Tsubaki (anime movie)

Higurasi, Shiki, Corpse Party and Shoujo Tsubaki are all much darker (and a bit disturbing for those who are sensitive to gore). Also Elfen Lied.

Yu Yu Hakusho, X/1999 & Tokyo Babylon, Gundam Wing, Death Note, Tenkuu no Escaflowne, Witch Hunter Robin, Gundam Wing, FAKE, One Piece, Mars, Digimon, and Horimiya.

I really want to start reading Tokyo Ghoul but can't decide if I want to try reading it in Japanese or English.

Also I despise Shingeki no Kyojin...>> sorry guys.

    Berserk.

The manga is a lot more graphic, but the Anime isn't too repressive. It's pretty violent, and the world is so dark and depressing, hardly anybody ever gets to live -- and if you live, you're probably going to be raped, gravely wounded, or both.

However, because of this, those few little moments of happiness -- there is a love story, surprisingly -- are a lot more appreciated.

there are a few others, and I liked Blue Exercist for the short time that adult swim/toonami played it. Oh and Dragon Ball/Dragon Ball Z... if that counts.
