Dark Souls, it's been a while since I seriously sat down with it. Once I'd "cheated"my way past Sif, I made my way over to where the Moonlight Butterfly was, only to find that I'd already beaten her and forgotten about it.

Currently in Lost Izalith finishing up the Solarie side quest. Thank God for the shortcut, don't really want to face the Firesage and that damn centipede on NG+.

 

Unreal Tournament: Game of the Year Edition, the one from 1999. It is an old game, but it is the only FPS that I am actually good at.

 

Firewatch. Maaaaaaaan, this is game is gorgeous. But more than that, it has a fantastic (albeit sparse) soundtrack. But more than that, the sound mixing really does a great job of making you feel like you are in the wilderness. But more than that, the voice actors sound really... Authentic? This game gets atmosphere, is what I'm trying to say.

Oh and the graphic design is stellar; as a graphic designer myself, this gives me a design boner lol.

 

I just finished it. It was nice, but the ending, at least mine, was pretty flaccid.

I agree with all you said, though. The writing and voice acting though, holy shit--I haven't heard something that good since The Last of Us.

 

IKR?! The chemistry between Henry and Delilah is on a whole 'nother level. Maaaad props to the voice actors, because they killed it. Rich Sommer and Cissy Jones are definitely on my radar now.

Also, agree with you on the ending. It was... Unsatisfying. Not bad, I just wish there had been more progression for the characters. I mean, by the end of the game they were at pretty much the same point at which they started. It makes sense I guess, since, as the characters themselves point out, the whole "volunteering to be a fire lookout" is usually something people do to escape their problems—like hitting "Pause" on their lives—and once that's over naturally you would resume your life right where you left it, but still... Wish they would have taken the characters in a more interesting direction. Have this experience influence them in a more substantial way.

In any case, great game overall. The screenshot key on my keyboard is a lot loser now than it was when I started playing this I think I'm covered in the wallpaper department as far as 2016 goes.

Oh and btw, really cool thing what they did with the in-game camera! I'm seriously considering ordering those prints. My pics turned out really, really well :icon_mrgr I just wish they would have given me more shots! I ran out of space within, like, 20 mins. of getting the camera lol.

EDIT: Holy crap this is scary lol or rather, unsettling. In a very retro way.

 

So... playing the first two chapters of digimon cyber sleuth I was like... Jesus christ this game is so easy. I killed the first and second bosses in two hits. They werent even really bosses. But anyways I'm pissed it was too easy. Then I ran into the boss in chapter 3. He stomped the shit out of me.

Ok... so maybe this game will actually be good now. The story isn't bad, but soooo sick of the Japanese voice overs. The dialogue localization is very good, but the grating shrill japanese digimon voices and some of the other outlandish characters just make my ears bleed in a foreign language.

The only significant game play issue is the lack of a journal. You can't check what you are supposed to do. Say you save and forgot where you are, good luck finding where you left off or who to speak to on what floor or area.

Outside of that, the game is a solid 8 out of 10. Going to enjoy a play though. Not sure I'll play it a second time but damn sure it's a good game worth playing.
