    This reminds me of the last time I went to Pride in Toronto! :grin: I was actually walking with PFLAG that year and we were all queued up ready to go. It was raining like mad, and some random person yelled that it was a sign from God saying he hates fags. The minute he said that, the clouds broke and the sun shone down directly on us! I promptly yelled back, "no, look! He loves us! And he loves you!"

    Well, "Let all who are *thirsty*...*come*..."
    I know it's probably wrong, but there's just so much wording that makes me giggle inappropriately with religion. It's really hard not to crack up in church sometimes! May God forgive me!

    Funny and true story....I was at a Bible conference in high school in the hotel room with the assistant to our youth pastor. He started singing, "When the music fades" while changing. He was like, "When the music fades and all is stripped away..." while taking off his shirt in our room. I was like, "No, no, don't strip it all away..." He was a big guy, and it had nothing to do with my homophobia; he just wasn't attractive. Word got around our youth group of 20 about the story quickly. The next day when they played the song during the worship service, we were all dying laughing. If you know the song, it is a slow song and has a prayerful tone to it. People looked at us like we were crazy because 2500 kids were in the auditorium from all over the Midwest from our denomination. Haha.

    There are of course many other spiritual sayings that sound awful in the wrong context, "I feel closest to God when on my knees."
