I'm curious what relatively inexpensive purchases have significantly improved people's lives. For me, an electric toothbrush and tongue scraper (which can be bought for about $15 combined) have improved my life a lot. In spite of having good oral hygiene habits before, my mouth has felt (and been) a lot cleaner after the upgrade to an electric toothbrush and using the tongue cleaner. Now, if I use a regular toothbrush I feel like I'm using sticks and leaves for oral hygiene. So what relatively inexpensive purchases have significantly improved your life?
Music. "Hmm I like this one song by this one artist, maybe I'll spend a few bucks and buy the rest of the album, HOLY SHIT THIS ALBUM IS AMAZING AND NOW I LOVE THIS BAND!!!!!"
my iPod Shuffle. It costed me 50$ which was a steal and I'm extremely happy with it. Another would be earplugs. I used to hate wearing earplugs but recently, they've kept me from waking up at around 5 am when everyone decides it's the best time to be the noisiest.
Rubber bands. Unfortunately, my hair is down to my waist and I wouldn't be able to do sports without them.
Hm lol monetary values... What is one dollar? - Erika Pham Ok jokes aside, anything cosmetic is worth it to me because I like to improve my self image and self esteem. Right now panties would be nice... Under 20 xD -E
I recently purchased a diary/journal whatever you like to call it, because I have been having troubles with venting and letting my emotions out, it has helped me greatly so far and it was around $12. ---------- Post added 2nd Jan 2015 at 12:34 PM ----------
I LOL'ed. : P Hmm, it's a good question. Probably music or books. They keep me going, cheer me up, calm me down, and comfort me. What more could you ask for? : P
Hairdryer was a good buy for around, I guess, 30 dollars. It's a must for styling your hair, and had I not owned one now that my hair is kinda long I'd have to walk around for hours with wet hair.
A pair of good boots from River Island for £65. Totally transformed my life. People pay for condoms?!
Do condom trees grow in your city? Kidding. Yes, most people buy condoms, especially in the U.S. Actually, the best small purchases are for lube because they have never left me high and dry.
The phone I'm typing this on: $30. (Dad got it, but still...) Retractable black eyeliner: $1.99. Black combat boots (so comfy and waterproof): around $8. (Mom got it) Big notebook: $1.00 Smaller notebook: $1 and some change. Mechanical pencils: $1.00 Headphones: about $15. And then there's chocolate.
$15 binder from Amazon $1 chapstick with keyring lid $5 decorative dish to keep loose change and keys in
A one-serving coffee maker for $6.00 that uses a reusable filter and brews 16 ounces. Saves me money in regards to going out for coffee (but then again, I usually go to hang out and do some work) and lets me brew my own single-mug coffee without having to either use an expensive machine, a big machine, or a too-big pot and throwaway filters, etc. Best of all, though, since I can now regularly brew coffee without worry of waste, conflict of use, or cross contamination of smells and tastes (the normal sized coffee maker is used for something other than coffee on a very regular basis), I can buy all those small sampler packs of coffee to try out without committing to buying a whole bag and actually make use of them.
My glasses! I paid £69 for one pair of regular prescription and a pair of prescription sunglasses. It was amazing to go on holiday and be able to see whilst wearing sunglasses, usually it's one or the other. I could read books comfortably!!! Those who also wear glasses will hopefully understand my excitement.
