If my partner was a different race, culture or religion I would be honoured to learn about their culture, customs etc. I think it is fabulous to share different cultures.

I have often found that I can appreciate another culture more when I am most familiar with my own (this has taken years). In other words, I can appreciate the importance of a culture by participating in one myself. The Japanese, no slouches in the culture department, are also the most attuned to the cultures of other places; they just know what culture is, they recognize it and can adapt to it masterfully, while not forgetting their own.

So yes, it is great to learn about other cultures, while being fully aware of my own and expecting also that any future partner would like to learn mine.

I would learn and respect their culture and give them gifts on their holidays, but I would only celebrate my culture's holidays.

If I were to date/marry someone who came from a different cultural background than me, I would absolutely want to learn about their customs and traditions, and hopefully experience a lot of them. I think it would be a lot of fun, really.

If those traditions and holidays are important to my partner, of course I would learn about them. If they went against my beliefs though I don't think I would continue to celebrate them, but I would never try to stop my partner.

Of course I would, if it's important to them. But I wouldn't date anyone who's cultures go strongly against mine, so I don't see any problem.
