one day when l'm in bed with the guy of my dreams after a rigorous session of doing the diddle i'm going to lean in and lovingly whisper "no homo"

but for real it doesn't bother me too much; just enough for me to use it jokingly or to make fun of the insecurity of straight guys

Not many people I know use it, but when they do, the person they're talking to always responds with 'all the homo' before aggressively hugging them

Personally, I think if a straight guy has to follow something up with "no homo" then they're not particularly confident in their heterosexuality and they're trying to cover it up.

I personally think it's stupid phrase and often times when I hear this, it makes me think the guy is not being completely honest sorta speak. It makes me think he may have gay tendencies but wants to not be suspicious, thus he/she says this annoying phrase.

Now of course, I'm more apt to take it positively when it's being used as a joke. At that point, I don't care lol But usually, I hear see the former.

This is why I don't use it and don't like when someone does. But more because I'm getting bolder about my own and would rather leave it ambiguous on purpose for thrills XD.

No, not at all. It's just another lame catchphrase that the homophobics have because they think it's "Catchy" and "Clever" when it sounds as if they've created at 14 years of age during their lunch break..

Depends on what context it has been used. If that has been added to the end of any phrase that can mean something homosexual but doesn't actually mean that then it's fine. However if that's being used to insult someone then of course I would not like it... ><

The people who feel the need to reinforce their heterosexuality every fifteen minutes are not worth any of our time.

"I'm totally for your rights, man, but, could you like, be fine with my deep desire for you not to exist and to separate myself from the implication of possibly being tainted by people like you by telling everyone I'm a hetero as often as if it were a punctuation mark?"

    Why not?
It's analogous, making an inherent, non-harmful trait into something that's inherently bad.

Recently I've started hearing "no hetero" being used tongue-in-cheek. Although I don't really mind if someone thinks I'm hitting on them; I will simply explain that I'm not if I'm asked about it, and they can deal. :stuck_out_tongue_closed_eyes:

I have never heard a real person say this, and first learned about the phrase/trend on the internet, hence I've found it more silly than anything. I don't know how I would feel if someone seriously used it around me.
