This is interesting to me, because when I was still figuring myself out, a coworker of mine was a transwoman and I never would have thought. One day while we were working on something and no one was around she sort of gently asked if I knew what transgender was and I said "Yeah" and she told me she was and I had a no way! that's cool moment and she kinda stared at me like 'okay...your turn now' but I was a bit dense and she asked if I was cis/if I knew what cis was and I told her I knew and I wasn't sure. we had a nice conversation about it afterward.

and then LATER at a different job, A transman who was pre-everything pulled me aside and came out to me and I told him I was too, or that I think I might be and he said "yeah I could tell. that's why I came out to you"

Is there a gay-dar equivalent to trans people and is mine broken?

So I think little kids are obsessed with declaring that I am a guy. They see me for the real me! I'm so happy. Also, my substitute was passing out papers, and he said he was going to give a green paper to the males, and a white one to the females, and I got a green one!

If it helps, Jack, I think mine is, too. I've never been able to tell in Liverpool, or anywhere else. In my small home town, the only other trans person I know or have seen is my cousin.

    --

I got a new job and one of my coworkers is a guy I went to primary school with (we went to the same high school as well, but I'm a year older and it was a big school, so I rarely saw him there, whereas our primary school was tiny). The job can get pretty dead at night, so we had a nice, long chat about all sorts - school, work, politics, and being LGBT+. He brought up that last one, talking about his sister telling him everything about different genders and sexual orientations, he asked me what the term cisgender actually meant (he knows he is cis, but thought it had a longer definitation than it actually does), and he said he understands gender dysphoria and being transgender. It was pretty cool. I didn't come out, but it's nice to feel like people at work will be cool with things when I eventually do.

Mostly... I FINALLY, FREAKING GOT A JOB.

Not really. I recognized him because the setting made it likely and you could see some effects of HRT, like he didn't look that young like us pre-T guys do and already had stronger forearms, yet his chest looked a bit irregular. He seemed to have a bit worse case of man boobs, but from silhouette and face I would have said male. If someone is longer in HRT I couldn't recognize that person as trans.

Trans-ciever is the best. And yea. I do have it. Sadly I have had any bro/gurl respect moments from trans people. I always get blown off or catty looks from trans women in real life. From ones that pass very well to those who don't.

I just want a girl hug from a sister I meet, not a catty bitch stare down.

Doesn't really flow off the tongue as well as Trans-ciever imo.

I came out at work about being trans. Some people kind of expected it.. my coordinator was strangely surprised. I felt good about saying it. Even though most people never even thought I was a girl lmao. At least now the people who did recognize me as one are taking it well. I am no longer called "hun" or "girly" around them.. though the 2 ladies that did do that, I was pretty sure they only called me those out of pure joke intentions in the first place. I was so happy when my coordinator asked what I would like to be called. Now everyone is calling me Vincent. It's a great feeling. Much better than me trying to explain my birth name hen so many people already thought I was a guy. They would often think they misheard it and would call me Angelo.. the male version of my birth name.. which was all cool and dandy tbh but I don't feel like an angelo lol. oops, made this too long. Guess I got too excited.

The ladies at CVS are very professional. Treated me just like anyone else. I KNOW they know what this is for, I mean, they certainly aren't stupid back there.

I got accepted to a summer program at a university in another state and I think I'm going to use it as a time to try out a new name and male pronouns in real life. I'm pretty hyped...although it's not until June lol
