Hey sometimes when people are first starting to acknowledge your gender they will feel silly and say it in a joking manner, but know that they are probably trying and you'll start hearing it more in the future. Even if they are joking, no one ever realizes how validating it really is. <3 So that's great!

On a separate note: Omg, I just made an appointment at Planned Parenthood for this Tuesday. The one very near my house happens to do informed consent HRT. I almost cried when I found out it could be this easy. I was so fed up with my gender therapist I really didn't want to go back there and I'd already spent so much money I didn't want to start over with a new therapist.

I can't believe I'm doing this already. I'm a very impatient person and I feel like I can't do anything meaningful until I do this. I am glad I got a couple of appointments with a gender therapist first, but at this point I don't know what else I could say.

I'm out everywhere but at work now and almost everyone calls me Patrick and uses my pronouns. And now I may actually be starting T soon. Shit is finally kind of going well and you all have helped me so much.

Hopefully my bloodwork and everything is okay. At this point I don't know what I'd do if I couldn't start.

hey Patrick, fantastic that you found a way to get to where you need.

my son and i joke about gender and sexuality all the time, he is so supportive of me and my journey. he made it a joke because me and his 'other' mom are divorced. but he does view me as both dad and mom. what a great kid, my biggest victory.

Not really a personal victory but when you fill in the form for the Junior Certificate on what level (ordinary or higher) you want to take in each subject it has a thing at the top with your name and gender, and thing underneath which says "gender: if different from above" and "name: if different from above" and when I filled it in in May it made me really happy even though I didn't change anything.

Also I had a great conversation with my friend about me being a boy. He's really anti-LGBT+ but he's seriously my biggest supporter.

Edit: just as a note, that form was issued by the Irish government; yay! Recognition!

I came out to my French teacher and she's letting me use the masculine form of things instead of the feminine!

I finally got paid today, and in full. Now I can pay off some of these medical bills.

I also had a great discussion last night about my feelings and self-worth. It was a great eye-opener. It feels good.

    I texted a selfie and...
YOU CAN SEE BEARD STUBBLE IN THE PICTURE!

I've had stubble for ages but you couldn't see it in photos. Now you can!

I bought myself a kilt, AND WORN IT OUT  It's not strictly feminine clothing, but it's a kind of transitional middle ground to help me build confidence, and it's been hugely comforting that nobody's batted an eyelid

I went into the men's bathroom during gym today, for the first time ever, even if it was only to fill up my water bottle XD

I came out at work and nobody gave me any shit. In Arizona, one of the most conservative states in the country, no less.

went to the clinic that specializes on Gender and met the doc. nice person, she gave a bunch of information to read and the informed consent papers, going back on friday for our second visit plus seeing my gender therapist later the same day. oh boy, i was so full of anxiety all the way into the city, over an hour of driving, now i still have tonnes of questions.

like libido, will spiro help with regrowth of head hair since it's used for that in women, hip changes (tilt?), body hair, will laser and hormones work to make it go away, mental/ psychological changes, depression/mood swings etc. so many more.

^_^ My therapist said that she'll be willing to write me a recommendation for hormones the second I need it, which will be soon...
