I joined Instagram and put my name down as Ollie. I then followed loads of people I know. Step two in neutralising my name!

I tore someone a new one on FB yesterday (political stuff) and my mom freaked and sent me a message saying she wished I hadn't and that I was setting myself up for a hate backlash. She fears offending but I think we leave ourselves more vulnerable by staying silent and ceding the argument to the hate voices. Anyway this morning I had nothing but support replies! That made me happy.

I don't know if it qualifies, but I went outside today...

So I went out at lunch yesterday, and got my first ever eyebrow waxing.

I heard the words "Well, we'll have to fix that" come out of the young lady's mouth. When I was finally given a hand mirror, I was horrified. I started getting a panic attack right there. More than half of my right side was gone in the shape of a blob of wax that fell off of the stick. Right in the middle...

I was so worked up, I called off the afternoon from work.

I got a phone call from the manager of the place today, and she wanted me to come in. She gave me a gift card, a bunch of freebies, and taught me how to apply false eyebrows (which included a pack of them). We spent a few minutes chatting, and I was starting to smile again before I left.

I had a very nice dream where I was looking in the mirror shirtless and I had a perfectly hairy, flat chest and slender, chiseled hips. Of course it was sad when I woke up, but it helped cement in my mind that I want to medically transition. I was really happy in that dream.

My brother has been using my nickname (Squirrel) instead of my birth name and apologizing whenever he uses my birth name. EVERYONE is using my pronouns (except my dad) and my mom is letting me go in male bathrooms!

That's cool. It is so rare for me to be myself in my dreams. Whenever I have one like that, I treasure it!

Oh... I donated money to and signed a petition today about a protest to protect the water supply for a Native American reservation against an oil pipeline. I feel really good about that, but also I wish I could do more.

I actually went out for the first two times wearing feminine clothes. The first time was because I was out of shorts, so my sister just told me to borrow my mom's, which are like 2 inches above the knee. The second was because I needed a white shirt and my sister let me borrow hers. It was more of a feminine style. When I saw myself in the mirror, I looked pretty feminine, except for my face and maybe my hair... But still, yay!

    This is a big one!
I asked my family some time ago if they want to give me a second name for when I can apply for a supplementary ID - it's something you can get in Germany to help you through transition before you get to legally change your name and gender marker. I wanted something that reconciles me with the fact that I rejected the one my parents gave me and that I had to make up a new one without asking them because I wasn't out to them for the longest time...
Now I have the necessary papers together and asked again - and my mom spontaneously came up with a name. I like it. It's masculine but cute. I don't know if everybody's on board with it yet, but the idea at least out there.

I had a get together with some high school friends a few days ago. We usually see each other every few months. I was a little anxious about the event because I hadn't seen most of them since I came out on facebook, but I was correctly named/gendered like 90% of the time that evening.

First things first: finally came out to my gf as NB and she's super supportive. Second, I got up the courage to tell her I want to bind--and not only is she okay with it, but she and I went shopping for masculine clothes! I ended up not buying anything, but still; the experience is enough.
