Kind of sore from the run yesterday lol.

Sometimes I realize I get way too happy/excited over social interaction :lol:

 

Wondering how long I can procrastinate in three works due to today. Maybe one hour or two...

 

Can't see my girlfriend today... I'm sad.
- Long distance sucks, even if it is only two hours away.

That incredibly awkward moment when you come across someone you haven't seen in over year, but the thing is you weren't even acquaintances then; he was just a guy you saw a lot (and evidently saw you a lot too) because you moved around the same circles, without said circles ever overlapping. Soooooo technically this is the first time we are saying "hi" and then this conversational void where the "catching up" part of the convo is supposed to go but....

That was so awkward. I hope we say hi and awkwardly fiddle around again.

The indirect hinting approach didn't work with my mother, so I tried the casually direct one, and this is the basis of what went down:

Me: Hey, mom.
Mom: Yes?
Me: If I told you I was transgender, how would you react?
Mom: *quiet for a few seconds* I don't know, because this isn't serious.
Me: Well, what if it was? What if I told you, I'd like to transition into a woman?
Mom: *quiet for a few seconds* I don't know, because this isn't serious.
Me: Assume it was. Would you be okay with it?
Mom: You couldn't get pregnant, have your period, and genetically you'd be considered a man, so, you couldn't become a woman -- you could look like one, but you wouldn't be one. You'd be missing out on significant parts of womanhood.
Me: What about women who don't get pregnant or are on birth control? Are they less of a woman?
Mom: No, because they still grew up being objectified -- you didn't.
Me: So... would you be opposed if I transitioned?
Mom: No, but I'm not living with that. You take those problems elsewhere. Why are we talking about this?
Me: I figured we could talk...
Mom: Well, can it be something that isn't a stupid joke scenario?
Me: *sarcastically* Forgive me, mother, but 'tis all I know.
Mom: *rolls eyes and walks off*


Some folks have super-supportive-and-curious-to-learn parents, and others have the Bible-thumping-kick-you-out parents. Me? I have the 'I don't care about your problems, but if they bring me any unwanted attention or stress, then you better leave, otherwise, solve that shit and leave me out of it!' ones.

On that note, I'm taking a nap...

 

She's a lost cause.. better to focus your energy on building up supportive relationships with others who are actually worth your time

 

Just came back from a concert by Screaming Females. Their name is pretty great but the show was AMAZING.
