    Silently cursing the fact that we have not developed telekinesis every time I have to get up to do something menial (closing the door, flipping the light-switch, picking whatever up...) has become an essential part of my day. It's like anti-meditation. I just get more frustrated the more I think about it.

    I'm not sure if I should tell my mum what a two-spirit is. I've mentioned it to her before but I think she got the wrong idea, it is part of our culture and such.

    So...I just thought I'd let you all know that I am in fact still very much alive.

    I've celebrated my birthday, my marriage anniversary, and my sister going god places in life. We now have three leopard geckos in our home, as well as new stock for our biggest tank, including dwarf puffers.

    I'm probably getting yet another promotion very soon.

    There's been an entirely unfortunate amount of personal losses in the families my husband and I share.

    But life goes on. And we're okay. I'm doing fine. Still ranting at ignorant douchewaffles every chance I get. :wink:

    Finished The Art of Living today. For a guy who speaks often about acting in harmony with nature, Epictetus wants us to severely constrict our own very natural desires and emotions at the same time. Also, he speaks of obtaining freedom by rejecting the imposition of others upon the self, while at the same time basically advising us to resign ourselves to the fate prescribed by the "divine will"...which doesn't sound a whole lot like freedom to me.

    Or maybe the interpretation is faulty. Who knows...
