Well, I'm on day three of my diet. I've managed to keep hunger at bay by shoveling large salads down. I'm going to try and stick to this and see how things are going after a couple of weeks. I've never dieted before, so I really want this to work.

Tried to buy a song on iTunes, it kept giving me an error and telling me to try again, I tried about 3 times and it never gave me the song, BUT it charged me for every attempt :***:

 

I have so long to study for this Bio test today that I'm at my computer more than usual, haha.

Some collectors of antique things are major assholes.

There's a very "ageist" thing going on with many collector communities, especially those that have older people as the majority, such as antique doll or phonograph collectors. It seems they think, because us young'uns weren't around when these things were new(er), we'll never be knowledgeable about them.

Let me tell you, back when I was in the doll collecting community, I was the most knowledgable of the whole lot. I could identify a bisque doll with a glance, repair old talking mechanisms ('twas my specialty), and generally was an antique doll encyclopaedia.
I taught the 50 year olds some things...

I do remember there being a kind of superiority system too. "I have this rare one, so I'm superior to you; I've been collecting for one year more than you so I know everything."

I feel like the oddities community is the only collector community that doesn't have this attitude. Probably because it's mostly made up of goths and other alternative people.

 

I'm so glad the hot guy at Kroger doesn't get creeped out when every time I see him there I end up accidentally making eye contact and then stare for a few seconds too long like a weirdo. He just smiles, which doesn't actually help me look away any faster.
