After this evening's session, I want to make an attempt to set real boundaries in my offline friendships. That is, to hold off from or outright not contacting others who, for whatever reason, are incapable of providing satisfying, reliable connections. With some, at least, I don't want to cut them out of my life but for awhile at least need to stop trying to contact them when it leads to nothing.

It's hard to do this seeing as both the few friends I've made since starting to attend the LGBT* center a couple years ago have all but drifted away, and whatever LGBT* social circle I participated in virtually disintegrate entirely, but for the time being at least need to try letting go. :frowning2:

I am very lucky. I was trying to go to local art galleries but was having no success (learned our museum of art generally doesn't show local artists - how nice...), then things started picking up as I went to an arts district, talked to a resident artist who just so happens to share a gallery space with my former high school art teacher! I also found contacts at some local restaurants (a Brazilian restaurant was supportive, where as a pub employee dismissed it outright ._.) Moreover, she invited me to show some of my woodworking skills at a her clay studio in February.

    Yay! (!)

I should probably get rid of the Christmas tree now. Since Christmas was over a billion years ago. And it's, y'know... dead.

"You should have a better attitude!!"

Yes, that will make me enjoy sports, enjoy the yelling and the staring. Totally.

And that woman....is a coach. She didn't really teach me anything worthwhile, all she did was make me embarrass myself and lower my self-esteem. Sure, you're hard on me because you care, but you care for your own selfish reasons, because YOU want a good team, not because you care about how we actually feel.

Maybe I'm weak and overly emotional, but goddamnit, im not going to be forced into something i dont enjoy just because you want me to be like other kids....And i thought you wanted me to be different...

I always love it when people are banned. Makes me feel like they were mysteriously taken away by Soviet secret police.

(Not that I wish to imply the EC staff are KGB)

The sexy manager I'm falling for was helping out in my area today...bending over a lot, showing off his perfect ass and that amazing, slightly hairy lower back... I was pretty much like this the entire day:

They are going to fuck with the wrong celebrity one time. This episode is so rude. I can't.

Just got done watching the State of the Union and the GOP Response. Let's just say that I've seen more substance in a Starbucks drink than I did in Joni Ernst's speech.

Actually, I find it quite distressing.

I have found that those I consider to be the most humanistic and protective members of the community are the ones who get into the most trouble, whereas, the ones who go about fat-shaming, or seeking validation for finding one and only one race attractive, or seeking validation for anti-trans views, anti-bisexual views, or anti-femme views more or less get a pass.

Exactly that. The mods appear to have different opinions on who deserves to be banned and why. Personally, I trust their judgement.
