Just wondering what everyone who has got the update thinks of the new Android version, Lollipop 5.0.0 Personally, I really like it and the new art direction they've gone in which is much more minimalist and futuristic. I also like the integration of Chrome tabs and app pages as it means it's easier to switch to a specific page you want from another app, though getting used to it may take some time.
Fine, i'll put Cyanogen 12 when they release a snapshot... Is it really THAT much better than 4.4.3? I mean, groundbreakingly good? Ran any benchmarks? The only reason to get a Nexus... early updates. /thread - For others with a Note 3, who have no problem with "risking" it. My phone hasn't gotten the update yet, but Motorola usually gets them quickly, so I'm assuming I'll be able to update within a few weeks.
What are the main differences with it? Just done a quick google, is Lollipop the one with the rather Playstation esque navigation buttons? If so I prefer my Kit Kat ones, they look a bit more sophisticated to me! Might have to hold off upgrading because of that.
This is one of the reasons I like the Nexus phones; first to get updates. So far I'm liking it. I like the Chrome tabs, too. Yep, the shaped buttons. They look a bit odd at first(still do kinda, heh) but they don't take long to get used to.
I like bold colors so I'm a fan of Material Design, so far (Nexus 5). I disabled Chrome's tab-as-an-app feature though as I like that list to be less cluttered. On the other hand, I'm glad that all email goes through the Gmail app now and there's an easy way to toggle between my personal and work accounts. It's not going to change your life though so don't sweat it if you have to wait for the update. I think we've reached somewhat of a plateau on both Android and iOS that will probably last for a while.
The buttons are f*cked up. Oh yeah lets make the navigation buttons RANDOM SHAPES. And the general public goes whaaaaat?! While the android fanboys go yaaaay crappy nonsensical minimalism yaaaay.
I got a Nexus 6 yesterday, and I love Lollipop. Still gonna have to get used to the Chrome tabs in the app switcher, it feels a bit weird right now.
