Enough French to buy a crepe in Paris, and a little Polish to buy a beer.

That I speak fluently or have an understanding of?

French and Latin I've taken classes for, but I was one of those students after graduation that couldn't speak it very well, nor was I good at really writing it (Latin will be the death of you if you try it).

Broken wise, I know/understand a little bit of Spanish and Arabic. With context clues, Spanish is fine for me (Spanglish is common in my place now) and I know a few phrases and words in Arabic. None of it would really get me by if I spent a day in a place that spoke it, but a short conversation is something I might survive.

Me too. lol I've learned a few words from watching anime.
Perhaps we could study together; like learn one new word per day.

Let's put it this way: I have to slap myself every now and then to remember EC's monolingual policy.

I took both French and Spanish in my schooling at the secondary and university level. I really enjoy both of them. Finding outlets to speak French is not so easy. As far as Spanish goes, I could find someone to talk to every single day! I just spoke Spanish to someone in a restaurant this afternoon. I started in English and when I switched over to Spanish to make it easier for her, she sort of lit up.

I grew up in a multilingual household, so this sort of awareness was encouraged.

Interesting. I'm surprised you said Spanish instead of Castilian. I was in Catalunya once and was speaking to a local couple when walking in a park near the port. The lady said that I spoke well. I thanked her and told her I had studied Spanish in the U.S. She didn't seem happy about that and mused "Espanol, Espanol, hmmm ... " Then, I understood what I had implied on a political level. I thought to myself, "Lady, be happy that I cared enough to learn a language you speak. Take it up with my university and all the others in the U.S. that the courses are all prefixed with SP for Spanish and not C* for Castilian."

Most people who learn Spanish in the U.S. speak standard South American Spanish and not continental Spanish.

My family speaks Chinese as a native language however I grew up in Canada so actually I'm most fluent in English, far more than Chinese

So I guess languages I use pretty well include English, Chinese-

I know bits and pieces of French too because I learned it for a few years

I have this problem too and I just say "I learned the Spanish from Venezuela and Puerto Rico, not Spain". And I'd be happy to chat with you in Spanish (not here though).

My native language is Spanish, but I speak English better since I've lived in Canada most of my life. I'm also learning French in school.

If I just consider only English as my native, then I also know ASL (although I learned them both at the same time, so would they both be my native languages? idk).

Almost perfectly bilingual in Korean and English. Korean is more of a family language to me, and English is reserved for school.

English almost on the same level as my native language.
Russian pretty well. Vocabulary is a bit empty since I haven't used that extensively for quite a few years now.
Had a year of French in university, but didn't learn enough to call myself competent.
