What is your favourite music genre, or if you like multiple music genres what is the one you listen to the most. I have a whole bunch of music genres I listen to but my all time favourite is electronic. In terms of music with multiple sub genres such as Heavy Metal and Electronic you can just be general in saying that you like Heavy Metal(but say you don't like growling vocals) you can say that to give us an idea of what you like. But if you wanna be specific you can. For e.g. (non specific) I like electronic. (specific) I like big beat. But if you really do like almost all sub genres in the genre just be non specific and tell us I like all Heavy Metal music.
I love alternative and rock music (of all types), even though I don't know what genre a lot of the music I listen to would fit into. I just say I listen to what I like.
I used to be realllllllly big on metal (symphonic/goth, black, industrial, and death), but I've been on an Indie high for awhile... Indie pop, Indie rock, Indie R&B... Indie hip-hop. Lol, I just prefer that now, even though, I'll still listen to some metal and mainstream rap + pop music.
I'm a big fan of rock music and like a lot of the main sub genres(hard rock, progressive, psychedelic, folk rock, glam rock, blues rock, etc). My favorite bands/musicians are The Jimi Hendrix Experience, Bob Dylan(Although mainly his earlier stuff) and Led Zeppelin There are some forums of rock that I don't like such as Techno/Electronic Rock, Alternative/Modern Rock, and Indie Rock. There are probably a bunch of other subgenres that I am forgetting but there are so many
I guess it depends on my mood. I do listen to only one specific artist, like Chelsea Wolfe whose genre is goth so I only listen to that genre only because of her as well as experimental metal (Death Grips). Most of the time I listen to Alternative Rock, Folk, Trip Hop, Electronica, Ambient, Instrumental, Soul, R&B, etc.
Most punk that isn't too thrashy, indie, all different sorts of metal (but with no vocals harsher than In Flames), and lots of post hardcore/pop punk.
Anything called "indie": indie rock, indie pop, indietronica. I also like classical and various forms of electronica like dubstep and drum'n'bass.
Anything I feel like listening at the moment. Since yesterday afternoon it is something like bellow which I don't know the genre. It is just good music.
1. Power metal (absolute favourite is Freedom Call) 2. Slower electronic music (chillout, psychill, downtempo, ambient - favourites are Carbon Based Lifeforms and Ra) 3. The thing I call "Extreme metal": futuristic/distorted/half techno metal (like Xe-None, Mechina and Neurotech)
Genre in relation to most musics today is often a business term as much as anything. But if I had to make a list: Bluegrass New Acoustic Music (Chris Thile, Edgar Meyer, Bela Fleck, Yo Yo Ma etc) Jazz, particularly gypsy, swing, modal Some classical American roots music Blues And bits and pieces of rock, folk rock, Irish traditional, Scottish traditional, Hawaiian, any number of other traditional musics around the world, fusion, bebop, soul, reggae, bossa nova, jam band, popular music up to the mid 60s or so.
