Unfortunately it can take hours for me. Sometimes I''ll go to bed (around 3am) and still be awake at 6 or 7.

    Insomnia sucks.

It really depends with me. If I'm kinda tired but I need to go to bed, probably about half an hour to an hour.. if I'm super tired, usually about 7-10 minutes.

Before college, it would take me about an hour, but now that I'm in such a constant state of sleep deprivation, it takes me at the very max three minutes once I close my eyes, but it's usually an instant thing as soon as my head hits the pillow.

I used to be able to fall asleep at will. Now, it's not quite so much, but I still fall asleep within like 5 minutes.

I have a very difficult time getting to sleep... even with medication. Anywhere from 45 minutes to an hour, usually. But even then, I wake up at random intervals.

    A matter of seconds.

I'd probably say 15-30 seconds on average, if that.

Sometimes it doesn't take long. I've been known to fall asleep randomly in mid conversation. Other times it takes foreverrrr. Or I just don't sleep at all.

Theoretically speaking, everything under ~60 minutes is not possible... It takes about 70 to 90 minutes to go into full REM state. If one "pushes" himself by laying limp, not moving an inch with controlled breathing (same when trying to lucid dream), the time can be somewhat shortened.

    Thread:

About 30 to 45 minutes, 15 of which i leave for crying / thinking. Then another ~60 minutes to go into REM, 4 to 5 sleep cycles later i'm here, reading stuff... Sleeping is boring! ((( ̄へ ̄井)

It usually takes me a bit over an hour to fall asleep, but I'm not taking any sleeping meds so that might make going to sleep easier.

I have no idea when I've reached REM sleep, but I guess not being awake is a reasonably good indicator!

Anyway it takes me anything from 10 minutes to an hour, depending on my mood, how much exercise I've done that day, and how long it's been since I've had my light on, or used my computer or phone.

It depends really.. Some nights I can fall asleep rather quickly and then other nights I can be laying there awake for hours trying to shut my mind off and sleep. I find when I have about 15-20 till I have to wake up in the morning I can usually fall into a light sleep again but when I first put my head down on the pillow, it can take anywhere from 30 mins to a couple of hours.

Usually only takes 5 minutes. I installed software on my computers that adjusts screen brightness according to the time. That helps and so does taking breaks from my video games. I swear all these screens can mess something up. I frequently stayed up all night when I was a teenager. I'm grouchy when I'm tired and I feel lucky I don't suffer from insomnia.

It varies but in general I am looking at 1-2 hours after I shut off the lights.

Occasionally I drop out almost instantly, which is the best nights.

It depends. If I'm chatty and jittery, then a few hours :S. If I'm exhausted, then 10-15 minutes.

Listening to music makes me take longer to sleep. My mind is just full of things during those times.

It varies a bit. I usually put music on for a few minutes or wander the house a bit if it takes over an hour. I'd say around 45 minutes to around an hour, but sometimes I'll go to bed at midnight and at 3 am be trying to block thought out with a pillow over my head. The noise of the gerbils and rabbits definitely don't help and my room is always either freezing or blazing hot. But mostly it's just thought after thought after never-ending thought that keeps me awake.

About 30 minutes most times. When I'm very tired, it can be less, but I tend to post online and stuff before going to bed and that has an effect of keeping me alert.
