Concept art of Tessie with Jeff in a boat on top of her head. I love her theme from Earthbound.

Because I finished watching Kill la Kill and absolutely fell in love with Nonon Jakuzure. She's so great.

At the moment, it is that.

As for why I chose it. Well, nothing too fancy. I just really used to like Sailor Jupiter, and she was my favorite of the Sailor Scouts (or Sailor Senshi, for you purists). Besides, it looks cool, with her using her lightning-based attack.

I guess, if I wanted to slap some deep meaning to it, it would be, that Sailor Jupiter is someone I found appealing. Her balance between being tough and being feminine is, well, something I find rather comforting, because it reflects my own desires.

I'd kill to look, move and sound like Robert Stack. Everytime I see him, regardless of the movie, I see just myself, or the man I should have been. He is masculine, but he's got this other side that is fragile and unstable. He can play the neurotic and insecure guy as good as the though cop, sometimes both in the same movie. On his interviews he was usually down-to-earth, wise and cool, but never unnatural. Above all, he seemed honest, true to himself. And yeah, he was old fashioned about politics and the rest, but besides such things... That's the kind of man I am, or I'd like to be when I reach his age : A gentleman... With many sides.

It's good I can think, say and wear whatever I want. I've got also no troubles with keeping good posture/moves, but everytime I look at the mirror I don't know if I should laugh or cry... Most of the times laughter wins, it's just too funny not to laugh... That I'd kill to look like him.
Mother nature is against me... Really against me!!

Robert Stack was a man's man.

I remember him on Unsolved Mysteries. He'd be in this fog-covered and abandoned castle, with hardly any light, and he'd say something like:

"Tonight, murder. Sadistic killers who stalk their prey, and mutilate their bodies."

Then they'd show a clip, and they'd return to Robert Stack, only he is now standing in front of a rusted guillotine. He'd then say something about grizzly passions and brutal violence.

    LOL!

I agree. That man had an incredible voice -- up there with Vincent Price.

My avatar is a tree from the house where I grew up. The house was on a 20-acre plot of land that was bordered by a creek on 2 sides and a stream on another (read: marshy, especially in Spring...amazing that in the 35 years my parents lived there, the house was on high enough ground that no water ever touched it, despite water rising to within 50 feet of the house). That tree was right on the creek, and I loved it. It was a tree I never climbed...I respected it too much for that. It was just beautiful and had a kind of Spirit I could feel. You can't see it well in the picture, but there were 3 main branches that the trunk split into, and two curved out and over, so the space under them made a kind of shrine area...a great place to sit with your thoughts and listen to the water in the creek.

My parents moved from there about 6 years ago. The picture was taken after they'd moved out, and I'd gone back for one last good-bye, since I'd spent ages 7-17 there. I walked through the house and all the grounds quite thoroughly and took pictures. It's still rather sad to think of the day. But it was a beautiful Fall day, about this time of year. And I spent quite a while under the tree saying a formal good-bye to it in particular.

(Am I not one seriously weird individual?)

So since I spend a lot of time on this site thinking about me, my past, and issues I've dwelt upon under that tree, it seemed a fitting icon. It doesn't represent me...but it reminds me of where I am sitting, in a spiritual sense. It grounds me.

I chose my avatar because the two characters shown are my OTP (one true pairing) from my favorite anime (Puella Magi Madoka Magica) and I am basically in love with their love.
