You're not going to like this... But I turned the music off once I heard it. Unfortuantely, when watching with my parents, I couldn't avoid it.
It's a very close one, but my number one eusa_danc) is Spain. Ruth Lorenzo was glorious that night and the song is beautiful. I'm floored every time I watch the performance. Goosebumps!
It's not just me , it's everybody with good taste for music. ---------- Post added 17th Sep 2014 at 05:01 AM ---------- That's great. You chose my country. I ranked her 3rd / 4th. My winner was Austria. ---------- Post added 17th Sep 2014 at 05:07 AM ---------- Norwegian entry is not a bad song, but I think there were better songs in the contest. So far, 36 countries have confirmed their participation in Vienna. There are four returning countries: Bosnia & Herzegovina, Serbia, Bulgaria and Cyprys.
Then your definition of good is pretty different than mine, buddy. Here, for the fans: The comments below.. Skip them please.
OK. We have different tastes. I'll change the topic. My favourite entry from France is Je n'ai que mon âme by Natasha St-Pier (France 2001). I think it's perfect. Eurovision 2001 - France - Natasha St-Pier - Je n'ai que mon âme - [HQ STEREO SUBTITLED] - YouTube
Ah, France. I've had a bias for this country, and there's a few songs that I really, really adore. In terms of recent history, I loved France's 2011 entry. Amaury Vassili - Sognu. It is such a beautiful song and the instrumentation and vocals were something to behold. This is my personal winner for 2011 and one my favorite French entries of all time. How this song failed to at least crack the left-hand side of the scoreboard confounds me to this day. Another favorite of mine is Frida Boccara - Un jour, un enfant. I just love the way it 'sweeps,' the way the song climaxes. It grabs you and doesn't let you go until the end. I just love the song. Easily my favorite winner from the four-way tie in 1969, and also my favorite of the 5 French winners.
He failed because he could haved done a better performance. But the song itself was amazing. Before the live performances, it was one of my favourite songs. Traditionally, opera has not been succesful in the Eurovision Song Contest. ---------- Post added 18th Sep 2014 at 06:19 AM ---------- That's a great song, but I would have chosen The Netherlands from that four-way tie in 1969. De troubadour by Lenny Kuhr is simply beautiful. (I haven't heard all the songs of that year). As for the 5 French winners, my favourite one is L'oiseau et l'enfant by Marie Myriam. I'm sorry but I'm not going to let this thread die. This is my favourite Azerbaijani entry: When the Music Dies by Sabina Babayeva (Azerbaijan 2012). What do you think about it? On the other hand, the number of countries which have confirmed their participation in the 60th ESC ascends to 39.
