I love Eurovision ... there's nothing like it. I love the comedy aspect, although since they changed the format the really good (bad) ones don't make it to the final. There have been so many wonderful moments. Like the Polish entry this year, that was just ... so Eurovision. Musically, I thought the Netherlands entry was pretty good. Of course everyone knew Conchita would win, even if it was just to spite Putin.
By the way, I think that Portuguese entry (Quero ser tua -Suzy) deserved to be in the final this year. It was one of the biggest injustices of ESC 2014, in my opinion. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fhMbHLiEjS4
I think Denmark and Lithuania would complete my bottom 3. ---------- Post added 16th Sep 2014 at 09:44 PM ---------- Yes, it is.
Let's see my ranking.. The 5 last ones (the lower, the worse): Romania: Miracle Georgia: Three Minutes to Earth Greece: Rise Up France: Moustache Finland: Something Better //How ridiculous. It's very underrated. Listen to it again please.
Greece was awful too. Paula Seling and Ovi (Romania) did a better job in 2010. Georgia wasn't that bad. It's an unacknowledged song. France and Finland were not my cup of tea.
Like? Too weak of a word. I LOVE Eurovision. I really loved this year's result, though I wish some songs had done better. My favorites from 2014 are Austria, Spain, Norway, Azerbaijan, and Montenegro. Ballads galore. Eurovision would be very boring if I chose the songs, but I love the entries that are earnest and honest. That take themselves seriously and lack self-awareness. I also love the entries that 'build' throughout the song, but they must also build at a good pace. Tugging at the heartstrings is also a good bonus.
Me too! I'm happy with the results in general but some songs were underrated and other ones were overrated. Good choices, by the way. I didn't like Norwegian song that much, though.
Aww, thank you. What's wrong with Norway's song, though? I know Carl Espen had a less than stellar performance in the finals, but there's something about the song... I'll concede that it does take a while to grow. I didn't start loving Norway's entry until after the contest. Have you kept up with who's participating in Vienna next year?
I ranked Norway 23rd. I have my notes "very boring" is what it says.. But opinions differ (says the guy who likes Cheesecake ) I always rank all songs with some friends, and one of them ranked Norway 2nd. =]
I love the friend that ranked Norway 2nd Lol Cheesecake. I think I have it somewhere around mid-table in my rankings. 15-19 probably. I have a strange fascination with the song. And the lyrics kill me, but in a good way.
Lol Anonymous777 doesn't like Cheesecake (but that's just him, don't tell him I said this) Who was your favourite entry? You listed a few, but who is number 1? :icon_bigg
