Correction: the adult male fans aka Bronies take it too far. Not the entire fandom. Bronies are the ones who sexualize a cartoon about ponies meant for little girls...

The Superwholock fandom on Tumblr is annoying as heck as well. Especially the ones who think their fandoms "own" Tumblr and feel the need to add gifs of their show to every freakin' post and then add another comment about how they truly do have a gif for anything... Just, no. Main reason I'll never watch Supernatural, Doctor Who or Sherlock...

But yeah, I do love fandom. I'm a huge fangirl myself and if it weren't for fandoms I would've never met two of my best friends. ^-^

Personally I think there's nothing wrong to be a fan of things as long as you're respectful about it

I love loads of different books, shows, movies, bands etc- many of them have inspired me a lot and have gotten me through some really tough times.

I think things you love can not only make you feel a bit better sometimes, but can also make you a better person.

No but sometimes it's hard to find fan communities that aren't hostile and closed off to new fans or members.

Umm, yes it's fine. Of course it's better to be a fan and not a fanatic. There is such a thing as too much or too far.

No it's fine unless we are talking about M. Night Shyamalan movies after Signs, then shame on you. :icon_wink
