I agree with both liberal and conservative parties on some points, but they both have their weaknesses I lean towards the conservative side slightly despite their fierce rhetoric against gay rights. And I am 100% capitalist. I don't find communism practical mainly because it's easy for a tyrannical dictator to take control of the government, and history has proven this. I view the philosophy of the "equality" in communism as "equally poor" and If the republican party was friendly towards gay rights, I would be more opt to vote for them.

I suppose you'd say I'm liberal; I don't agree with 100% everything but at the same time, everything republicans say and do is automatically nonsense to me.

I was going to vote liberal, but decided not to as that's not really where my political beliefs lie. I'm actually a socialist (a dirty word in the UK over the last 30 years).

I voted 'liberal' even though I can't really live with that label as it still screams 'right wing' to me.

Green Party is where it's at.

I'm not a 'liberal' I'm a socialist. Specifically, an anarcho-communist. I will not answer the poll.

I think both can be terrible in excess, and incredibly intolerant. I also have problems with both systems, but for the sake of the poll I choose somewhere in between.

I'm really an anarchist at heart.

I'm for a mix socialist liberal society. I think a lot more businesses should be regulated a lot heavier so that monopolies of markets can't exist.

I just don't agree with a 100% free market, it always allows one person to take an entire market simply because he was there first; not necessarily the best. It actually is unhealthy for competition because it doesn't allow there to be a variety of competitors to compete against eachother.

In fact the free market and monopolies allow competitors to team up with eachother drive prices high and lower competition.

Razor blade manufacturers have been in cahoots with eachother to keep their prices artificially high; 5 pieces of metal and 20 grams of plastic shouldn't be $5 a piece I can buy more metal for $0.01 online. They're about to lower prices.

Chocolate bar companies have been keeping chocolate prices in Canada artificially high.

Real estate tycoon have been buying up properties across the world creating a fake demand for housing in many Chinese Cities, Dubai, Toronto, and a lot of other cities.

Canadian Cell Phone and Media companies have been completely monopolizing every market they can get their hands on. Keeping Canadian cell phone, internet, and cable costs among the highest in the world. Capitalism has allowed two companies here to basically own the entire market.

Coca-cola bullies other drink competitors into either selling, or staying small. They have the rights to take out water from Lake Michigan which is hydraulically linked to the other great lakes which means they're basically taking water from Canada. They have bought the rights to all water in certain African countries, and basically control the water supply there.

Blah blah blah, I could go on.

I am liberal when it comes to social issues, but when it comes to business, completely socialist. I do think people who work hard should deserve to succeed and be rich, but I think that the amount of wealth that is allowed to pool to one person should be capped. Their wealth and control makes it hard for anyone in similar markets to compete healthily. It also makes it very hard for people with little capital to begin with to ever get a chance to do so.

This doesn't directly effect me, but I just don't like how basically every soft drink I drink is made by Coke, or every home care product I use is made by Johnson and Johnson, or how a razor blade that costs $0.10 to manufacture is sold in packs of 5 for $20.00

Humans are greedy and a completely free market just allows those people to take advantage.

    Socially - liberal.

Economically - a little more complicated. I think I'm leaning towards a mixture of capitalism and socialism. Something along the lines of Sweden is what I'm thinking - clearly a capitalist economy but with socialist tendencies. Works pretty well I think - certainly the closest to ideal we have at the moment.

Socially very liberal, economically a realist. I believe in an economy that takes the best aspects from both capitalism and socialism. I believe in consumer side economics and Keynesian economics, a higher minimum wage, a day a very progressive income tax and a progressive capital gains tax. I'm a registered Democrat and will also be voting straight ticket this November.
